I'm a bit muddled after seeing the common thermostat connections, is it all connected in a temporary configuration because it doesn't look right to me. Apologies in advance if I'm wrong!! I've also noticed it says wireless on the control centre, any reason for it?
I'd use the wiring centre regardless TBH, with it giving you the terminals to do the necessary things needed without messing about. I'm presuming that the actuator is 230V then with them saying you can just use a JB? I've never dealt with mains voltage actuators although I guess they all work...
Right, we are a step nearer the conclusion! Does the manifold come with a connection unit? The actuators for the underfloor loops are usually low voltage so are usually connected via a controller which usually has a row of terminals for room stats, a row for corresponding actuators and two sets...
Well played for doing it the right way Jase, it's the experience that's the killer, you can only gain it by working, but to work you need it! It's a stupid circle.
I agree with the post about that second picture, you can see the tight cone that the LED is giving but there's some supplementary light there that isn't on the first one.
Efficiency is key, making sure all tools are with you aswell as gear to do the job, also the correct tools to do the job, I've worked with people who run around like mad men and don't seem to get anything done, just being busy fools. Plan, plan and plan!!
Backfeeds on central heating systems are some of the most comical things I've ever seen, so well played in addressing it to begin with and in the correct manner! Why not put a couple of pictures up? Is there a size restriction for any enclosure? Space is sometimes at a premium in plant rooms...
Agree with above, I've seen it when a fan isn't working efficiently due to it creating a negative pressure, due to nomairmbeing drawn into a room to replace it.
Stroboscopic effect? Try them on the same phase? What else is connected on the circuits, something that could interfere maybe? Never had that problem myself, but these are the things I'd investigate first!
Thanks for everyone contributing to this thread, I've just read it all and it's nice to see different opinions and points of view. After getting the HNC what are people hoping to move into job wise? I'm an approved electrician and wondering what job I may be able to move into after hopefully...
I was thinking along the lines that if there is a pump for existing loops for the radiators, theirswitch wires would need to be separated through a relay or two depending on the setup of the system as they could just be trying to pump against a closed zone valve.
