Inline switch on pendant light instead of wall switch?

Thing is with the stuff at Tlc it’s quite expensive and a lot of the time the quality isn’t there, they also use different branding for similar products sold elsewhere such as quinetic and ledlight For instance the quinetic switch and receiver in white would be £45.6 or there abouts...

Freestanding electric cooker, induction hob problems.

11.2kw , 6mm twin 40amp mcb. There engineer came over today - they seem to come to the conclusion that it had to be the saucepan even though that seemed weird that it blew the hob rather than just not functioning. He’d never heard of anything like that happening before.... And they will be...

Freestanding electric cooker, induction hob problems.

Thanks for that, very informative but as i was saying there are no fault codes as the led display as well as the hob has broken.

    1) R1+R2 or R2. 2) Insulation Resistance. 3) Polarity. 4) Zs. 5) RCD if applicable. I have an NICEIC 2392 learning guide, which suggests the essential tests are 3, 4 & 5 (5 if applicable) and if reasonably practicable 1 &2. BS7671 only refers to results of tests, as suggested in the model form...

As I see it you can’t really do your dead tests at all. Just your zs and rcd. You where quite right in your post that it doesn’t need a mwc but I’m not too sure about doing a half completed mwc.

If it’s connected to an rcd surely the ir test would give funny readings ?

    EV charging point course?

Don’t fully understand, do you mean inside the charging unit there would be an additional dc rcd ? Was looking into doing the course myself next month with niceic £180 day course.

    EV charging point course?

I’m saying use it as a power outlet in general. You can also plug your car in with a 13amp plug in some cases. Replace for a unit once a car has been ordered.

    EV charging point course?

Technology is being completely suppressed imo, as above.

    EV charging point course?

Why not just install a 16amp radial with a socket outlet so it’s useful until he gets an electric car.

RCD Tripped More Than Once In a Single Evening

Freestanding electric cooker, induction hob problems.

The motherboard for the induction hob has blown taking out all of the hob once the pot had been used. Other pans working beforehand

Freestanding electric cooker, induction hob problems.

But surely it wouldn't cause the motherboard to blow? It just wouldn't turn on.

Freestanding electric cooker, induction hob problems.

Supposedly the second time the pot was almost empty. The mind boggles tho, two cookers same fault 6/7months in between only correlation between the two is the pot used. Client is looking into a zanussi cooker as a replacement as it goes.

Freestanding electric cooker, induction hob problems.

Evening all, I’ve had a fault recently with a hotpoint free standing electric cooker and wondering if anyone has had a similar problem. The problem itself is with the induction hob part of the cooker, the hob had blown when a pot was placed on top and the mcb tripped Within a few minutes. The...

    Chasing walls.....weapon of choice.

Grinder and SDS if it’s a complete renovation and the dust isn’t an issue, if not SDS on its own.
