Chasing walls.....weapon of choice.

Whats your preferred method and therefore tool of choice for chasing all types of hard walks (brick, block, stone etc)?

Is it the grinder and hammer drill method (if so do you use a purpose demo hammer drill or a standard SDS rotary with hammer function). battery or corded grinder?

Is it a wall chaser and hammer drill or demo drill.

Is it good old hammer and chisel.

Or any other methods?

Grinder and SDS if it’s a complete renovation and the dust isn’t an issue, if not SDS on its own.

One kitchen I was chopping out with a sds, neighbour came round complaining of a crack appearing... It was a single skin brick wall separating the two houses. I vowed never to use sds alone again.

OK I didn't check up on the price (I know its Hilti but 3k??) my point is more towards a slightly cheaper setup?

Sometimes use a diamond multitool blade for a short chase.

I have this chaser and it’s attached to a cheap titan vacuum from Screwfix which I brought a longer hose for from eBay. Does the job and next to no dust.

What type of product are we installing in this chase, conduit, oval conduit, just cables or capping. I'm orrffh to bed, curry was nice.

Metabo 230v wall chaser, Trend M Class vac and SDS hammer drill for me.
I didn't choose the setup the company bought it for me, but I've got no complaints with it.

Obviously you guys do not come accross beach pebble or Marland brick, both very common around here. Both require diamond cutting disks and then grinding disks. Beach pebbles can deflect a drill bit when drilling through a wall causing it to jam,have had to cut a few off and leave them in the wall

I have the cheapo titan chaser and titan hoover, long hose off ebay, works a treat as long as you change the hoover bag frequently as thats their let down there ----. The whole setup is £130 though! Tap it out by hand after or sds, i use the armeg box chaser on my sds for boxes

Nope, never had to work with cob or bungaroosh either.
I use diamond discs anyway, which cuts through anything I've come across - plaster, brick, block, concrete, water pipes...
