I've had one for a while, has proved useful. Depends on how many meters you run and how they are looked after. If been kicked around on building sites, may be an idea. If you do decide to purchase one, little advice do not keep in van. As travelling about and temp differences can effect them...

@Luke238 I don't think you have much of a choice but report it to the company & if your client has no joy then report to NICEIC. None of the governing bodies would like that, and they should do something about it. This sort of rip off give our trade a bad name, needs stamping out!!
There is bit of method in my madness. Purpose is for mainly is the old Zs n time/current curves for obsolete protective devices. I've built a excel calc which backward calculates old Zs results and converts to new. Namely if you have an old Federal HCA 32A C 0.4s 0.75ohms and 5s 1.45 it will...

Hi gals n guys
I'm looking for some old copies of regs, namely 15th and early 16th. Others will be considered. If anyone has any and wouldn't mind parting with them would be appreciated. Already have 16th Am2, 17th & Am 1/2/3, 18th.

Hi @sparkyvr was your old company a JIB firm? If so you will probably have more options, as the JIB don't just set rates of pay ect but there are rules in which they are supposed to follow being a JIB firm. JIB handbook is downloadable from website.
I would agree with comments above and offer to...
As I stated earlier "It is ultimately the inspectors professional opinion." As like all the books we have BS7671, OSG, GN1-8 ect ect are all guidance. Though building regs & HS acts are law. Each situation can be different, thus it ultimately the inspectors professional opinion, and must form...
@DPG @spinlondon .Cheers guys I had noticed that with them, may take a file to them to get flat face, or see what other grub screws I can get.
@Andy78 fortunately I don't have the pleasure of working on domestic, all commercial / industrial works so normally plenty of room to get driver in. But...
I'm not a NAPIT member, I'm in ECA. The way I see it is that every situation is different, but this book is a very good baseline to work from. It is ultimately the inspectors professional opinion. The subject has always been a sticky wicket as the only standard on EICR reporting really was the...
A good book for EICR is Napits EICR Codebreaker. section 5.17.3 Distribution of final circuits
"Cable connection/joint in live cable(s) not made within an enclosure. Access to live parts Reg 526.5 defect code C1"
If you are classing as a C1, I would also issue a EDN before leaving site, preferable isolate circuit/s where appropriate and issue Isolation Cert and get the client to sign for them both. If all goes pair shape, back is covered. Isolation cert attached for your convenience.
