I know I shouldn't be worrying about a solution, but the easiest way to resolve is to put the immersion on the ring! I do realise that its not recommended (not prohibited though) but as its not used much (if at all) I think this should be OK.
Doing an EICR, one circuit described as Central Heating with 1 mm T&E cable connected but on a 16A MCB. When I look closer it appears an Immersion heater has been tagged onto the circuit!
I've not been able to ascertain the cable route and its installation method. This is a single storey...
Yes, sure its just the inverter, clearly shown in the schematic as well. As you I thought it may have been for the array at first.
Inverter is in garage, connected via a 'Garage CU'.
Been asked to replace an old consumer unit, PV installed so bonding etc up to scratch.
House supply is TNCS, however with the PV wiring the inverter (Fronius) is on its own earth stake! So that makes 2 earthing systems in close proximity! Why would they want to earth stake the inverter?
Don't normally deal with alarms but a customer has asked me for advice and consequently I come here!
Old system (circ 1980s) occasionally alarm goes off during the day when its been de-activated, type in their code and it stops and everything OK until the next time. Happening more regularly...
I don't want the forum to instruct me in anything I've just told you want I'm going to do, but I know others will disagree and thats their perogative.
As for experience and qualifications I probably have more than you!
I'm now leaving this thread with no further input!
I just thought I'd let you guys mull that over! I'm sure there will be different opionions out there!
Ok, I'll start with my take. Plenty of C3's, lack of RCD protection on bathroom circuits (light + heater), no RCD protection for concealed cables, no RCD protection on sockets. The only...
Not sure what you guys want me to add. I've said what I will probably do in post #10. Didn't quite manage to complete all tests yesterday so have to return one day next week, which gives me time to ponder some more!
Will probably include it in the observations but without a code. That way...
You're now questioning my experience and you don't even know me!
As I've mentioned before I like to see an local isolator for a shower but there isn't a reg to say it does not comply. But I will mention it in my EICR but won't categorise it.
So if you put it down as a C3 how are you going to...
Yes I've got one and use it quite often but just wanted to make sure I haven't missed something that would be relevant, because whilst its an observation I won't categorise it as a C2 or C3 because I'm not aware of a reg that is contravened, or do you know of one?
EICR observation - Electric shower does not have an isolator (pull cord or switch). Circuit can be isolated and locked off in the consumer unit which is in the nearby airing cupboard. (This is 1st floor flat).
Is there a reg that says a shower should have a local isolator?
