Generally the SWA should be fine, but you can confirm that with the adiabatic equation. I think the times when the SWA is not enough is when you're using much much bigger conductors.
The link you gave is for a site that supplies earthing nuts, I always use them nowadays, makes life much easier.
You can't produce an EIC as you didn't do the work.
If you talked to Building Control first and explained the situation they may have accepted this. Why couldn't the installation company provide a cert?
I've done this before when the previous company left the job after 1st fix when the...
Didn't really want to route the old way because it wasn't in a safe zone and thats what happens when cables are not in safe zones!
Managed to route cable with some other cables on the surface under the stairs and then used my supperrods to get under the floorboards to the airing cupboard...
Update on the story!
Went back this morning, straight up in the loft with my voltstick, nothing anywhere. Followed the cables around and found the first port of call when exitting the conduit up the wall. Pulled the CU apart to get the cable out straight to see if there is any damage there...
Had a call today saying upstairs lights not working, tripped yesterday but now nothing working. Thought it would probably be something simple, but oh no!

As they would have to travel half way across the country they have asked me to fix, not too difficult to do.
Replace 1 gang sockets for RCD sockets or put an inline RCD for the 'off-peak' CU.
Now given all details to the customer to negiotiate a discount on his bill for the heaters!
Plug supplies the gas ignition.
Cooker switch supplies oven on a 1.5mm flex.
All on a 30A BS3036 fuse
Both flexes are routed behind the tiles.
The cable is not damaged or brittle and the faceplate is not charred through previous cable damage (I think).
As it'll be me trying to rectify this my...
Spoke to their head electrician today, and he seemed a bit annoyed that someone was 'lazy' to do this. If he used a DP switch or SFS then all would have been Ok, but easier to put in a socket and use the moulded plug!
They've asked me to rectifiy and charge them, by doing whatever is...
Based on power consumption the energy supplier should be able to advise what is best.
I know when I start removing storage heaters I tell the customer to switch from E7!
