I want to hide it as best as possible as I don't want my 2 year old daughter sticking her fingers in it. Maybe moving it outside was a little bit optimistic but there is some length on the supply cable swooping along the skirting board and it looks a mess and thought they could come and move it...
My background is mainly commercial pal I had a thought it would be a nightmare but I also thought that they could be moved slightly if the cable was long enough i.e shove it in the corner.
I know it's not my toy to play with mate I was talking about having it moved by the DNO as its in a **** place.
I had a feeling that they could be moved within 3m for nothing but maybe wrong
Cheers
Hi guys,
I have just picked up the keys to my new house, the Incomer is exposed under the stairs and looks a mess, I will be doing a gradual rewire as we revamp the house over time but firstly I will be sticking a new CU on.
Now if you look at the pics what would you guys do with this? I want...
Thanks for all your replys, In my opinion I think it's a bit lazy not to check in this circunstance but I presume he said to the client it will be an extra £££ to do this and they said well don't bother but I can fully understand in some circumstances and definitely in commercial jobs.
I presumed this would be the case but surely that's the whole idea of testing an installation? So can you put a limitation of not testing sockets as my back hurts and can't neel down?
Alrite lads,
i am am currently buying a house and as part of the valuation report they wanted a EICR doing as the electrics are clearly old.
So the owner employed a company to do the report and I have been passed on a copy. Now i I don't do EICR's but one of the limitations sounded strange...
Ever so sorry I am surprised you understood what I meant :stooge_curly: I think I was over thinking the R1+R2 a little, thank you for all your answers. Muchos appreciated.
I fully understand the reason for testing the CPC and that we don't just test to fill numbers into box's, depending on how it's wired the EOL would prove its present at every point unless there are stabs off.
my question was more along the line of when using twin you know that the r2 is...
So not just at the furthest point?
I sat my 2391 but failed the theory unfortunately and never got round to doing it again but will be doing the new course when I get time.
Hi guys
ive not done any real testing on commercial jobs other than fault finding etc and was wondering, when dead testing lighting circuits would r1+r2 be accurate as the r2 will most probably not run the exact same route as the r1 with more connections etc so would you do an r2 flying lead...
Thanks for all replys.
I think I was thinking in twin.
So if I wanted to feed two PIRS in trunking one at both ends of a room first one Switching first 4 lights lights and the Second switching the next 4 lights i can feed first PIR then I can pick up the lights with the N and E on the way...
Hi folks.
when wiring lights in singles does your earth and neutral have to take a specific path or does it just need to be at each fitting. For example
1 circuit feeding 3 PIRS and each PIR feeding 5 fittings. Would you
A- take a LNE to each PIR then take a separate a SW/L NE to the...
In this flat it is wired so as it's looped in at the switch and the bathroom light is fed from a switch outside the door is it acceptable to take a 3core from the switch as obviously no permanent live at light?cheers
