can this produce useful electric energy?

You dont get anything for nothing, even heat pumps dont work so there's no chance of perpetual motion machine doing anything.

    Led tape driver

Most of the 12V power supplies you can get have a trimmer on them for adjusting the voltage, not sure how far the range is though. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Velain-Universal-Regulated-Transformers-Surveillance/dp/B01N6O0LOH?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=AMLSPJ1RPLV4S&th=1

    UK Shower switches burning

Oh definitely, the amount of tails that I come across in consumer units barely nipped up is staggering, I always tighten them, wait a minute, give them a bit of a wiggle any you usually find you get another complete turn of the screw fairly easily.

It might be an April fools but you know there is some parasitical office boy sat there thinking how he could get this to be fact.

    UK Shower switches burning

Those round Crabtree ones are so near yet so far from being the perfect shower pull cord. The way the wire Yes, they've angled the terminal screws so if you put it in a corner then three screws are facing a wall, you have to wire it all up before you fix it to the ceiling.

Fitting your own air con unit?

I think with those DIY units only one side of them is pre-gassed so when you pipe it up you need a vacuum pump to get the air out before you release the gas into the closed system. I fitted one a few years ago from the same place but it had a different method of fitting, both sides were gassed...

    UK Shower switches burning

The shower switches and pull cords I find burnt out are the ones where the customer operates them every time they have a shower.

Extractor fan relay for two independent light switches

Is that even a dual input relay, I'm even more confused now. Looks like 1 AC input switching 2 different loads depending if the input is high or low

Extractor fan relay for two independent light switches

Pulling live meter tails from isolater switch in consumer unit

Ah the old cutting the seals thread again. So you fit the consumer unit, cut the seals and connect the tails. Then the DNO police turn up, "Have you cut those seals sonny Jim?" Err no, not me guvnor. And that's where it ends. I seriously doubt they will fish the seals out of the skip and...

Extractor fan relay for two independent light switches

From my point of view they are 10 a penny, simple to use and I've not come across a dual input relay before.

Extractor fan relay for two independent light switches

The look like they would work, not too keen on the spade terminals though, you will have to start crimping spade lugs onto the ends of the cable . I've used these sorts before now in various projects...

Extractor fan relay for two independent light switches

Just use 2 relays, I did similar in a small apartment referb where they wouldn't knock the toilet and bathroom into one.

    Minor Works on new Thermostat

You can obviously put N/A in some of the boxes like the cable size etc because you haven't used any, you can do a loop test at the thermostat and enter that value, same with the RCD if it has one. As for the megohms well you shouldn't have to dismantle the consumer unit and start testing the...

    Smoke alarm regulations

I know at the end of the day I will probably have to do what he wants but you price a job on what the customer wants you to do, you then do the job and move on to the next one, its only then that you get told about the extra stuff the building inspector wants doing. The customer never says "how...

    Smoke alarm regulations

I've asked a similar question before I think and we came to the conclusion that apart from new houses and HMO's etc there aren't any rules about fitting smoke alarms in existing properties that have been extended. We are doing a job at the moment and I have actually fitted a smoke in the...
