    The best Led strip lights

Just been fitting the Ansell cobra tape on a job in cool white which has come up really well. I'll take a picture tomorrow when I finish it off. You can buy it in different lengths and then also cut it down at approx 3-4cm intervals. It is plug and play but there is a little bit of soldering...

Wagos vs Crimps vs junction boxes?

I use wagos in light switches and that's about it. Traditional junction boxes and the hager mf junction boxes for jointing cables.

Starting point for discontinuous earth fault on final ring.

Reminds me of a job a couple of months ago on a house refurb. I narrowed it down to one room and it turned out they had built a stud wall directly in front of an existing wall and boarded straight over the socket where the fault was. Only managed to find it as I started lifting floor boards to...

Replacing old junction boxes with Wagos

I prefer the Hager J803's MF boxes to using a wago box personally. I only tend to use wagos in light switches.

Fuseboard upgrade. Surveying / condition reports and testing.

I usually make a decision whilst looking at the job whether I will IR Neutral to E before quoting and checking Lighting CPCs, it depends on how old and ropy it looks. When I start the job I make a list of every circuit and mark them if necessary. I turn everything off and then turn each...

Replacing old junction boxes with Wagos

As said above, I wouldn't worry about it too much if the r1 and rn readings are the same and the r2 is a bit higher than expected especially if the Zs reading is well within it's limit for the protective device. When the battery in my Fluke mft are low the leads don't always "zero" which...

A couple of pics of my SWB vivaro. It's not perfect but I can carry a lot of gear and more importantly put my hand to it quickly.

    Vanderbilt codelock v42 Door keypad

Did the job today, I rang up beforehand to make sure they had a key. It went very smoothly apart from when the lad breaking out the surrounding concrete severed through the cable even though I told him to go steady. Thankfully, I had the right gear on the van to sort it out.

    SELV Outdoor Recessed Brick Lights

I have a customer who wants two brick lights installing in a wall either side of his electric gates. The Electric gate installer has installed flex from the control box to roughly where the lights would go, part of which is buried. Obviously I'm not comfortable about sending 240v down this...
