After some LED downlight recommendations, have been looking at Ansell Orbio 360 and Enlite E5/E5, like the look of the E5/E8

Any good or bad feedback, any other suggestions.

Need to be dimmable.

Thanks.

One should be accurately recording where one has located said down lights/cables negating the need to guess where the previously located cables were positioned :)

I agree but when your dealing with overzealous dry liners who have a habit of wrapping cables around MF ceiling supports, pipes etc then sometimes you don't have much choice other than getting the apprentice to fish them out with his arm

One does , but one cannot account for the actions of the muck spreaders and their ability to move said cables or even worse trap them in between a joist and the plasterboard :rage:

I can't click Like, but get your drift. Excuses, excuses :)

Only thing with a lot of these down lights, is they don't like being covered in insulation, which proves problematic 1st floors in domestic properties. Tend to stick with JCC's because of this.

I think most auroras use, or can use, a plastic cap which lets them be used under insulation. The KSR 3 colour version of the QR10 also lets you put it under insulation, although the driver still has to remain above.

Yep Andy didn't mean to suggest JCC's were the only ones, but tend to use that type of fitting as a default. That said, have got use to the connections on the JCC's. Fitted some Halers the other day, took me ages with me ham fisted fingers, to connect them. Guess you just get used to certain thing, muscle memory and all that.
