For most jobs I price materials + labour. I do however work for a builder who likes
Me to price per point which I don't mind doing.
I usually do it both ways and then see how much difference there is between the two and make a decision from there.
Hi mate I have the same tester and when I first bought it I had the exact same issue!
I sent it off to fluke and they returned it stating that it was fine and nothing wrong with it however it's work fine ever since.
Unfortunately I never found out what was wrong with it.

I would be highly concerned If the switch is a late break, early make for the neutral. If this has been swapped around then it could be very dangerous.
