Display drops out on SMA 3000TL-US, but inverter still outputs

I have seen a failed display on SMA inverter with the unit otherwise working fine. If your inverter is under warranty I'm sure SMA will arrange for a replacement, they did with the one I dealt with in the UK.

FiT Rate July - September 2017

Does anyone know where I can find the FiT rates for the current period? I have looked at the obvious places and can't find this

    700W High Bay

Yes, I have spoken to wholesalers. LED does not give the same light as mercury, this is apparently important as the hall is used for badminton/tennis. It would be okay if we changed all six fittings to LED with the appropriate gel but they do not have the budget for this.

    700W High Bay

Does anyone know where I could get hold of a 700W high bay fitting? I need the circular type with a reflector to replace a faulty unit. My customer is not interested in converting to LED at present, just wants the failed unit replaced.

    Mounting system identification

That was along the lines of my thinking. I'll have a better idea of how comfortable I am with them once I get up there. If I'm that concerned I'll raise it with my customer and give him the option to replace the clips with the 33mm ones or sign a disclaimer.

    Mounting system identification

In the current climate I'm not really in a position to join the STA. If things pick up a bit I'll certainly consider it.

    Mounting system identification

Yes they are 33mm panels. The aerial guy measured them when he was up there over the weekend, he even emailed me a picture as proof. Good point about the spare tiles, I have a load of these kicking around anyway. As I'm not familiar with the Solarworld mounting system can you tell me whether it...

    Mounting system identification

Having checked a data sheet I notice the 33mm panel was introduced in 2015 so these could be 33 or 31mm. I'll have a measure up and give you a shout if I need a 31mm panel. Cheers.

    Mounting system identification

Thanks for the info Gavin. I was also asked to line the top and bottom row of panels at the same time as they are about 100mm out. Customer had asked the installers to rectify this with no success. Given this poor attention to detail I was concerned that the mounting system had been bodged. I'll...

    Mounting system identification

These are Solarworld modules by the way. My suspicion is that the installers did not have clamps suitable for the 31mm frame so used the bolts from the clamps they had with large washers. I'm thinking it may be necessary to replace the mounting system as this does not look right to me.

    Mounting system identification

I have been asked to replace a module damaged by a fallen tv aerial in the recent storm. The system was installed by another company that has gone into liquidation. Customer has sent a photo of the damaged panel. What draws my attention is the mounting system, instead of the usual clamps there...

Does anyone know what is going on at Segen?

Does anyone know why the Segen uk web address redirects to segen South Africa? Is Segen another casualty of the tariff changes?

Immersun - remote clamp on incoming cables

I spoke to Jo @Immersun a couple of weeks ago about the expected timescale for the remote option. She said it would probably be within the next three months. They are apparently waiting on a supplier for the enclosure. The remote sensor option is available in the firmware of the latest devices...

    Shading and Solar Edge

It would certainly be interesting to see how your systems compare with optitrac turned on. The shading on this job will only affect the array between Nov-Feb anyway so I may as well go for the SMA3000TL-21 with the lower panels on a separate tracker.

    Shading and Solar Edge

Whilst I understand these benefits I am still concerned about your earlier post stating that you have had 2 power boxes go down. Accessing and removing a panel to change a power box would be time consuming, expensive and awkward on most installations.

    Shading and Solar Edge

I'm glad I read this thread. We were about to quote on a system using solaredge to get around seasonal shading from an adjacent property. Given the results Worcester has provided, I think I'll stick with SMA. @worcester - can you tell me whether OptiTrac was enabled on the SMA please?
