What method do you use for fitting consumer units

Looks like the electrician (either Male, Female or Gender neutral :-) ) is working right to left so nothing will be in the way each time a circuit is added

    Help with a transformer

Can you check polarity in the 1st instance, and just for clarity is it an MCB tripping or RCD?

UK Wanting some quoting advice / am I about right/or too high-low

I'd quote at least £150 more plus another £50 for materials even then I'm not sure it's high enough. I envisage you'll be driving to & from that to a wholesaler. You can always refund money to a customer but very difficult to ask for more. The job looking at it looks a bit fiddly. I would...

Fuseboard change advice on running the pyro cables into the board

I think he's concerned they might not reach the new board given there looks to be no play whatsoever. Maybe a metal adaptable box could be used to provide a fully maintainable join above the new board or as you say 5 couplers.

What is everyone charging for EICRs

I think you've got to look at how big a site and what type of equipment it has just as much as how many circuits it is. Three phase boards can take ages to Test you may have to have a Mate along and also complete some work out of Hours or have a heap of operational limitations. As above

    Condensing extractor fan

I think I'd need to fit door grills to upstairs bedrooms to help with movement. Nice link Mike be I don't speak French :)

    Condensing extractor fan

Get what you pay for I guess? I bought some Anti condensation paint from a place in Bristol when I was working away over there. The walls feel a bit warmer to the touch so nothing seems to settle on the walls when cold

    Condensing extractor fan

We get quite a bit of condensation in the winter in our bathrooms - three daughters one of which showers for ages. I'm thinking of installing one of these > Vent Axia PureAir Home + Heater PIV - Positive Input Ventilation Unit | Vent Axia (479091 / 476311) -...

Opinions on Coding a Tubular Heater

The Reason I asked the question was because a Supervisor was angry at me for not coding it a C2 and went on to say it can't be repaired as no spares/brackets are available, he proceeded to almost pull it off the wall and kicked some rubbish underneath it saying it was a fire hazard although I...

Intermittent RCD Tripping - opposite side of board

I think it's got to be a bit of trial and error here. Could even be something happening that's purely coincidental. test circuits for IR where possible.

    Cable Tray Load Optimization

I guess that technically there maybe less future proof - especially if it's under estimated. Seen quite a number of over installed cable trays recently with all sorts of loose hanging SWA due to using Zip ties damaged through UV light. Twisted / falling off

Opinions on Coding a Tubular Heater

Ok. I thought it was a C3. Inside a service kiosk, just needs a new fixing rather than a complete replacement. At my previous company I'd keep all sorts of fixings/brackets to make good installations to save the client money. However, there would be no issue if it did need a complete...

Opinions on Coding a Tubular Heater

How would you personally Code a Tubular Heater that was fixed to a Wall Horizontally with Two brackets. The Heater being about a meter long but one bracket supporting it had the top half broken but supported by the Bottom section and the other bracket completely intact? Just opinions &...

Thoughts on an EICR on this board prior to physical testing.

So further investigation there are three bolt on enclosures on the side fitted with RCBOs - these feed sockets and lighting. It was an abomination inside but as least the circuits that require additional protection have it!
