    Wiring a carbon monoxide alarm.

The clients instruction were just to install it in the boiler cupboard. He doesn't like too many gadgets on show in his kitchen for some reason. No idea what type of boiler it is tbh. I'm no expert when it comes to plumbing. But here is a pic of it.

    Wiring a carbon monoxide alarm.

Most probably I guess. I've just checked the aico site for this product. You are correct when you said its not a common live. They do mention the IC terminal is hardly needed as it can be done from the house wiring. But they're not too specfic on which house wiring. However, I'm going to...

    Wiring a carbon monoxide alarm.

Hi friends, Whilst doing my 2nd fix for a builder, he wants me to fit in this carbon monoxide alarm as per his clients instructions. I've never come across one, neither has the builder. The client wants it installed inside a cupboard where the boiler is also present. He wants it wired off the...

Accident chopped off the grey wire in a 3 core.

Whilst splitting the sheath to expose the wires, the grey one was still camouflaged within the sheath as I trimmed them of. Cutting the grey wire in the process.

Accident chopped off the grey wire in a 3 core.

Yes I think I have just enough to squeeze into a wago. I wasn't so sure about the regs side of it.

Accident chopped off the grey wire in a 3 core.

Friends, Whilst helping a friend with the 2nd fix on a job, I've accidentally sliced off the grey conductor in a 3-core cable like a total --------. What now? Can I reconnect it using a wago connector? Or is that going against the regs? Someone help! ZippyMo TraineeSpark and sausage for...

    Route into being a sparky

Welcome on board fella, I'm just like yourself. A late starter although I built up some practical experience with family members over the last 9 years. Your best bet is to enrol on a college course (city and guilds 2365 level 2) and give these long distance learning schemes a miss. In the...

Cable clips as per 18th edition.

Friends, I'm rewiring my brothers house tomorrow. Can someone tell me if the new 18th edition allows me to use the plastic cable clips to secure the cables to joists etc? Or do I have to replace them with metal ones? Thanks ZippyMo Trainee Sparks

Advice needed on running a 2.5mm cable in kitchen.

I pulled the fridge freezer forward to see how much room I have and I did find an extra socket which is actually part of the other circuit containing the fused spur that I mentioned. The 3rd cable in the kitchen socket runs down to a socket under the worktop which is a spur socket. The oven is...

Advice needed on running a 2.5mm cable in kitchen.

Yes mate the grommets are definitely something I will add. Like I mentioned in the video the house was wired around 30 years ago. Probably grommets were not even included in the regs at the time.

Advice needed on running a 2.5mm cable in kitchen.

Hi guys, I just needed some advice on running a 2.5mm cable. As I'm still a trainee doing my college course, I thought I'd ask the experienced guys on how I can do this. I have made the video on youtube to explain exactly where the cable needs running. Here is the link. Any advice is...

    Bathroom extractor fan hole cutting.

Lol certainly not DIY Dave!! I'm starting my C&G 2365 Level 2 next week in Barking and Dagenham college. I'm looking to install it above the toilet which falls into zone 2. I don't think I have any tiles left as the bathroom was tiled back in 1995.

    Bathroom extractor fan hole cutting.

There is a loft conversion above so I think that one is a no go. Whilst on a 2nd fix job a couple of years ago with my dads mate, he drilled the hole for the extractor fan only for him to run into a solid iron beam.

    Bathroom extractor fan hole cutting.

Hi folks I wanted to install an extractor fan in my bathroom. I'm unsure about drilling a hole in the wall incase I wreck the bathroom tiles. I'm adding a photo that I have taken. If anyone has carried out this task without damaging the tiles, please can you tell me which tool bit you used...

What percentage of Sparks voted Brexit?

Although I believe the EU isn't perfect and has its problems, I voted to remain because by staying in, I know where I stand. All the marlarky of 350million a week for the NHS seemed too good to be true. As for free trade deals, the vote leave guy who knocked on my door couldn't explain what...
