So after a conversation, it seems as if the connections have come loose. Basically it’s an outside socket that’s spurred from an existing outside socket. The furthest one (which I installed) is working however the one which was existing which I spurred from is not working.
So a few months back I fitted an outside socket , the customer has messaged me saying it doesn’t work and I need to come and fix it etc. do I charge ? As it was all working fine when I left. Thanks
Yes I know that it’s an unorthodox way to do it but with them being Batton lights I don’t mind replacing the battery when it does eventually give out , I just want to know if this will work as il have to wire in a permanent feed for that light
So if I want to turn the lights off at the switch , but keep the emergency light on via battery do I need to wire in a permanent live ? It doesn’t need to be tested it’s literally in my garage.
I’m currently installing lights to a garage unit and I want one of them to be an emergency so that it’s on dimmed whilst the lights are off , I’ve only ever wired houses so it’s slightly different. Do I need to take a permanent feed from the switch to the emergency light ? If so is it a case of...
Hello all ,
I’m currently in the middle of readying my garden for next summer , basically I want to put power into my shed. running a 4mm armoured from the house to the shed and into the board inside the shed. The boards that are on sale have a 40amp main switch and then the two breakers for...
Hi there !
so I need some sockets in my garage and it’s only about a metre away from the house (kitchen sockets on internal side) I’m going to spur off my kitchen socket into a fuse spur and then run some 2.5mm into conduit and out to the garage (weatherproof box , saddles used ) also going to...
Hi all ,
I understand that you can’t spur of off a spur , ideally adding sockets would best be done by splitting the ring and completing it. Currently have an outside socket on the back of the house which won’t be used at all but we have a decking area further up the garden which I want to add 2...
Just a thought, if the spur inside is the switch for the socket and light then I won’t be able to have the socket on without having the light on. If I connect the socket to the supply side and the light to the load that should do it yes ? To save using an extra spur for a light switch ?
Wiring up an outside socket , light switch and light all outside , under a covered way and attached to the house. All weatherproof obviously and in conduit , spur in the kitchen to the outside socket and then from the socket to a 3amp fuse (used as switch) and then to the light. Is that the...
