    Ring main.

I've carried out Continuity tests on all four conductors this evening to find it is 2 RFCs, both sets of circuit conductors have now been marked so they can be identified correctly. Also on closer inspection I've found an sorry looking 32amp breaker in amongst a load of other rubble which could...

Tell me about it did think it would get so many mixed opinions! Always tell myself it doesn't hurt to have a second opinion on things and as I wasnt certain about this that's what I done. Thank you for the positive outlook and advice ?

    Ring main.

I've come across this in the house I've just purchased. There's a spare way in the board I'll add another MCB and seperate them.

    Ring main.

Yes I have the regs book, which states final circuits should be connected to a seperate way in the CU. But I've seen so many others argue this is OK??

    Ring main.

Question I have is, is it ok to have x2 ring main circuits on one 32amp type B MCB?? If so does this meet the current regs. TIA.

    Garage

Yes main RCD from house CU is 80amp 30mA. 1580760156 Would you say this is Necessary? Surely supply MCB from the house is doing the same thing when isolated?

    Garage

I never Intended to remove it (Main CU RCD). Just wanted to know could I do away with the RCD at the garage consumer unit if the supply circuit from the house is already RCD protected?

    Garage

The existing supply to the IP66 junction box is a 40amp MCB supply, which has seperate RCD protection along with all other circuits on the main CU. Reason for leaving it as a 40amp supply and not changing it to 32amp is the RCD in the garage is 40amp? Surely having a garage 40amp RCD (Main) off...

    UK Garage supply

Surely it would additional protection for the garage? Also I may use it to plug in a hot tub in time and that would need RCD protection. 1580578664 Would it matter if I did add another?

    UK Garage supply

Literally nothing the odd power tool, maybe a jet wash at the most and a lighting circuit Not a great deal really, a garage roller door, occasionally a few poor tools and a lighting circuit (LEDs). Would you recommend putting in a smaller CU in the garage in this case then? 1580577102 In this...

    UK Garage supply

Hi, I just recently bought a house and the garage has a supply coming from the house CU via a 40amp MCB which runs into a IP66 rated 13 amp double socket in the garage, I'm almost certain the cable size is 4mm (SWA cable). Ive just recently finished an electrical engineering apprentership...
