    Steel or PVC?

Agree with madmac we do the same, metal capping over cables gets earth even with the circuit on a RCD. Must be a Scottish thing. However I changed my mind about the whole thing a few weeks ago, now using pvc. At the end of the day its only for trowel protection.

We recently start the strip out of a newsagent in the Glasgow area and the following photo is what one of the guys found when he open the dist board. Spot the issue? It annoys me that we get pulled up for silly things when we're having an inspection from the NICEIC / SELECT and yet...

Consume Unit position in new builds

As far as I am aware, there is no exact mounting height for a CU. This is the response from SELECT:- There are no specific mounting heights for consumer units stated in either the IEE Regulations (BS7671) or in SBS Regulations. However, BS7671:2008 - Regulation 132.12, requires that...

    Installing current transformers

It's got to be a BMS system monitoring external temperature and the CT's will be measuring current draw. Between this and many other factors the system will probably be able to show energy used and compare against external factors. Only thing I can think of. A huge business has been created...

    Your own plant

How many out there are ensuring that their plant carries a valid label and not one that's been made up (not suggesting anyone would!) As most will be aware site plant requires 3 monthly tests.

    price for changing swa glands

A couple of things that you would need to look at would be how are the cores connected, screw terminals or crimps. If it's crimps your looking at addition time per gland. I'm sorry guys but there is no way that you could do 30+ glands per day, over a 8 hour day you talking 16 mins per gland...
