Basic pay is 600 p/w, plenty of o/t. I am currently sat in a hotel (paid by company) having worked a12hour shift...

    Combi boiler wiring advice please

Why not just wire it properly in the first place? Bring all the wiring together into a wiring centre, you need a permanent live for the boiler anyway so just as easy to do it right!

    Combi boiler wiring advice please

No, permanent live to grey on each valve, feed from programmer/stat to brown on each valve, both oranges together switched live to boiler

    Combi boiler wiring advice please

Grey - permanent live, Blue - neutral, Brown - live feed from room stat/programmer, Orange - switched live to boiler

    Combi boiler wiring advice please

Standard 's' plan set up with two heating instead of heating and hot water. Both oranges connected together as switched live to boiler enables either zone to fire the boiler when it's respective room stat calls for heat. The second zone valve will not operate due to having a 'backfeed' up the...

so who offers the best deal for electricity?

Smart meters will put an end to a lot of the fraud going on, reckon that's why they so keen. And the additional bonus of putting hundreds of meter readers out of a job of course!

so who offers the best deal for electricity?

Was talking to a customer the other day who is with ovo, reckons he's paying less now than he was in 2007! Never heard of them before and then see them on the telly slating the others! My own personal choice is a spare gas meter and a slightly mis-wired Leccy meter!

No 'HW off wire' - why not?

Not my words above, pulled it from some blurb on Honeywell site, basically the H/W off terminal will put 240v on to the grey wire on the 3 port which along with the 240 on the white wire will power the valve into the heating only position.

No 'HW off wire' - why not?

When the cylinder thermostat is satisfied, the contact will change over from cold to hot and the system will shut down. The live now presented on '7' will be used in the situation that both CH and HW are on and the cylinder thermostat is satisfied. The live from '7' feeds into the valve via the...

Please help with this central heating wiring question!

Practical or not, the only way to go is run a new t+e to the boiler, use one cable as perm L+N and the other as switched live and pump live. If no other route is available go up the airing cupboard into the loft and down external wall in tube, drill back in by boiler and terminate into triple...
