For example kt63 calculates pfc/psc with Zs but it has no option to go for an L-N test. The calculation is also the same V/Zs or V/Ze. The kt63 plus on the other hand has this option.
If cpc core is present i.e. it's either 5 core three phase or 3 core single phase — is a banjo connected with a brass screw into steel trunking adequate to earth the armour(provided trunking is earthed to the earth bar)? Or would you put fly leads in between then a fly lead to an earth bar?
Thanks.
I got a question for those who are CIS and file their own self assessment. I use public transport how should I calculate it? Is there a flat rate for public transport? What about food, can I claim anything if I'm 10 hours away from home?
Trying to fill out my ECS gold card application online with their website app, it tells me I need to be endorsed? I do work for a jib member company but on a self-employed basis. So my question is do I have to be endorsed?
I had mine a few weeks ago and failed, unsurprisingly, but I remember the layout. I already know what I haven't done, I should have split the circuit in the middle like, ring, lighting, etc. and test from there! Need to practice more with 3-phase and have a second look at s-plan.

Thanks. That's what I'm talking about. If I will test resistance from both ends the fault will be on the side of least resistance. So not only I will locate the fault on the conductor but also on which side/half.
How would I pinpoint a fault on a ring circuit with very little resistances, and without any visual clues, only by measuring.
Say I have a break in neutral between db and first socket. How would I go about fault finding it?
1. I will use low resistance ohmmeter.
2. I will find that rn is not a...
I can't find anything related to this in the regs so I probably misunderstood the question. The way I see it the max Zs for any lighting circuit depends on the circuit breaker for that circuit.
Say we have a lighting circuit with 100x36W ceiling lights which gives us a load of 16A, we choose the...
What's the difference between the two, one isolates N the other does not, got me confused when I was testing continuity between E-N, then I realized N was not isolated.
Oh I think I got you confused, I meant Ze. Ze which you test with the earthing conductor disconnected(due to parallel paths). On the test results sheet you put that value under Zs at DB because it can be either main or submain board in which case not true Ze. That's how I understand it.
