Hi,
I bought new chrome light switches to replace the plastic ones - one upstairs 2 gang and one downstairs 1 gang. The switches control the hall light, and the upstairs one also does the bathroom light. At the moment they aren't linked i.e you can't turn the hall light off upstairs if you...

Hi all,
OK, so was sent to a job today for upgrading a kitchen. The existing mains was an older MEM board which the newer Eaton RCBO's wont fit. The only circuits being amended are the kitchen ring main (32 amp) and the lighting circuit (5 amp). The customer would not have been keen on...
Hi, guys, Im an improver and Ive learned 1 year ago a dead test for 2 way switch with feed in light which I used successfully , but now when to put it down on paper it doesnt make sense. If you can figure out with your experience , please shed some light about it, and thank you very much...
Got a 2 way switch that gives 43 volts down one strapper when off, could this be an induced voltage, and if so why isn't it on the other strapper when it is off?
Also voltage at light switch is 250-252v, the light switch was faulty under load so couldn't be switched, when powered down it...
Hi
Newbie here.

Landing light is not fully switching off when operating the 3 switches on the landing/hallway.
A small voltage (less than 40v) is present between the switched live and neutral.
After trying a new lamp it worked fine.
Any ideas anyone??
Hello all,

Hi
I've got an existing 1 gang, 2 way switch (wired up for a 1 way) on a loop-in circuit.
I want to wire up 2 x 2-way bedside lights, and cutting into the loop-in at this point seems easier than using a fuse switch off the ring main, as I want to have the two way switches there anyway. I...
Hi
A little advice/comment needed please.
I am looking into attic conversion and trying to use existing cable where possible (all for a suitably qualified electrician to come in and do).
Attached is a proposed layout - and my question refers to the layout for the lighting circuit for the...
Hi all,
what are your thoughts on a small 2way consumer unit flush mouted in wall located within a built in cupboard used as a wardrobe? Very few clothes located within?
cheers
Looked at a favour for my auntie, dimmer switch smelling burnt. 10 x 35 / 50 w on each gang, and switch rated at 250 w. Her electrican can' t see the problem says its cheap switches. Need a 500 w dimmer for safety sakes. Wholesalers only got 400w 2 gang or 1000 w single. Dosnt want to...
