Basically for me it is not very clear what is classified as a "Stand Alone System"?
I know in other contries the Stand Alone Systems refer to Off Grid Systems, but in the UK everything must be a little complicated. Here...

Just been scanning through my early morning reading material and came across an article in Roofing Today about the FITs review. In this article, it claims that Stand Alone Systems will only receive 9p per kWh after August 2011.
Surely this is incorrect as I've not heard anything about this...

quick dilemma, bathroom fitter i work with just informed me that the quick rcbo changeover for a light in bathroom is an old metal wylex fuseboard in a cupboard for a flat. im pretty sure that u cannot get rcbo for these boards................i maybe wrong?..........it has the mcb conversion...
My neighbour boiler keeps tripping out the 3amp fuse. He had recently replaced the elcectronic board in the boiler, since then his been having trouble. Iv disconnected the live and neutral from the boiler and tested it and im getting voltage. Its only when i connect it back into the boiler...

Although I'm not yet in a position to really consider it yet (see my previous post), I've been wondering, in this current climate is it really worth the gamble to set up on your own? I don't, as yet, know just how competitive it is out there.

have a cct board, no rcd protection, cant get rcbo for type of board as mentioned in previous post, need to protect 6A upstairs light cct as light has changed in bathroom.............a stand alone rcd was mentioned?!
