Hello,
I wonder if some of you electricity specialists can help me:
I have a bass amp that I used in Europe but I now live in the UK.
On various websites I see that the voltage in Europe and the UK is 230 V - 50 Hz
I'm not an electrician by any means but this indicates to me that the voltage...
Hi, I'm at a job where there is 4x16 amp sockets protected by 4x16 amp rcbos in a bollard, the customer now wants 6 amp rcbos cause he wants to limit what people are using can you do this? I suppose it will just trip if people use more than 6 amps
Hello the on site guide lists 20 amp maximum mcb for 16 amps sockets. Having a debate with someone as to why this is? Why not 16amp mcb? I installed 20 amp mcb as it's for a car charger that charger's at 16amps for 8 hours and is not capable of pulling more than 16 amps but this has been pulled...
Hi folks,
I'm not an electrician and don't intend to do anything above and beyond the standard DIY changing of sockets/lights etc but I have a question that I'm interested in learning more about.
I recently came across the Wago connectors (which look to be a lot easier to use than the standard...
I'm not sure which would be best suited, a 12V 2A or 12V 3A Power Supply to power a 15W Amplifier (2*15W Outputs) and a Bluetooth Module.
I thought that since the amp is using around 30W output (2*15), it would need about 12V 3A in alone (probably a little under that), but the bluetooth module...
Hi Everyone

My industrial unit is supplied via solar power.
All the switchgear and mains supply etc. for the solar is in the unit next to mine to which I have no access unless the tenant is in.

Came across what I'm pretty sure was a current operated Crabtree ELCB today. Just had a search on here and a google and haven't found a lot. Annoyingly I didn't take a picture as I thought they would be more common than they evidently are! Pretty sure its the first I've seen in the 15 years I've...
Hello Can I just confirm that if 90 degree cable is used in switch gear that is only ratted at 70 degrees then you use the 70 degree tables to find the maximum current carrying capacity in this case Table 4D1A
I ask this as I carried out an EICR and found 4mm 6491B cable run in trunking...

I have been given a spec on a job from a builder and it has been suggested in the spec that we should use a 100 amp supply which is currently feeding 1 DB to split it to supply 3 DB's. So using the supply to go into a sub main board. Off this they want to supply 2 flats and a communal mobility...
My multimeter is a Fluke 116.
I'm looking at buying a new clamp on ampmeter that goes with this multimeter
( add on that plugs into it).
Anyone got one, what do you think of it ?
Is it better to buy a completely separate meter. .?
Your opinions please ?
