Only seem to be available in USA & run off 24V ac

Can I just ask how many of you hard wire your appliances under the work tops these days or do you use the plugs ? I hard wire everything just for the fact with the 13A dp above the counter there is no need of the plug below and you don't want to have to pull the items out just to change a fuse...
Hi All,
I was wondering if any of you could help. I run a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Surrey. We are an extremely small team working odd hours in order to supply a radioisotope directly to the hospital's. We run a very time compressed(almost military style) production shift...
Hi
I know the rules for business premises, but how often do I need to test appliances in a residential property? I've decided to let out my flat and need to know....

Hi guys,
Something me and a friend disagree on
What is the defination of an integrated appliance.
Is it an appliance that sits in a hole under a worktop or to be 'integrated' does it have to be fixed to the worktop and ajoining cupboards? Or do both mean it is integrated?
The question came...
Any guys do service/repairs on dishwashers, washing machines etc. If so is there any money in it....Just thinking about it....Is there courses you can do in it.I'm a spark but wouldn't know much about them..........

hi,
after some advice re isolation for under the counter kitchen sockets for appliances such as built in washing machines, dish washers, freezers ect. wondering what methods people use.
currently i am instaling a switch fused spur adjacent to a local double socket and spuring down to unswitched...
Hi all, A builder friend of mine asked me if all large kitchen appliances ( ie dishwasher , fridge ect ) have to be run off a fused switch spur. He said an electrician he has used insisted that he cut the plugs off the new appliances and wire them in directly to the fused switch. I told him I...
Gents (and ladies of course).
I have a new ring final to put in for my daughter in a new flat this weekend ( doing it through LABC of course.. £100 for the privilage too!). The existing ring final serves the whole downstairs and overloads when she has everyting plugged in/turned on (new baby...
Just had a meeting today with Peter Lee Williams, NICEIC assessor for my promotion to QS.
amongst other things he said that one of the limitations for eicr's should be that portable appliances have not been tested.
just wondering what everyone's thoughts are. I thought it was unnecessary.
Hi there, I'm new here. This will become obvious.
Today my band and I intended to go busking with our new battery and inverter, which we used to plug our keyboard and amplifier into using a dual extension cable. Within 2 minutes of playing the keyboard stopped turning on, and after 4 mins, the...
Hi,
I am in the process of a kitchen rewire. The kitchen is fully integrated and my interpretation of the regs is that all appliances should have accessible means of isolation. Does this mean that all switches have to be mounted at counter level or can they be concealed i.e inside or above...
Firstly, I'm not an electrician - I've also not been on the forum for a while but I did receive a lot of helpful advice whilst rewiring my own home earlier in the year (and yes, it's now complete - my slightly esoteric lighting control system excluded ;))
Anyway, my neighbour (who has no...
going to install an mk grid system (6 way) for a kitchen. The kitchen has 4 double sockets, 2 ovens, fridge, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and an extractor. What are peoples opinions on best way to wire this? Would you have a seperate circuit for the grid, looping the feeds at the back of the...
Hi all
Integral kitchen appliances such as dishwashers etc, what is the easiest way to test them? is there an easy way of getting to the plug or is it a case of removing half the kitchen in order to access the plug??
Haven't done one yet hence why I ask, but I know for a fact we have them in...
On a new kitchen install the oven and hob are not specified yet and are therefore unknown to check MI. Most likely it will be a built under double oven, and a standard 4 ring ceramic hob.
Is it beneficial to install separate circuits to oven and hob, or a single cable to isolator, and dual...
What design loading should be assumed for a kitchen. Washers/Dryers are easier to consider, but someone may decide to boil the kettle, whilst making toast, and putting on a combination oven/microwave at the same time, so should a lower diversity be applied to kitchen circuit than standard.
I...

Hi All,
Has anybody got any advice on using electrical appliances during the day with a 4kv system.
Is it possible to automate any appliances either via timeswitches or the Sunnyboy inverter.
Any advice would be appreciated.
