I'm repacing a free standing cooker with a ceramic hob and separate oven. I already have a control switch and 1 oulet box. Is it good practice to have 2 separate outlet boxes, separately spurred from the switch, or wired in series? Or can i connect the two appliances from the same outlet box...

Had a text from a customer I did some work for last November. Message was that both the lady and her husband have had slight electrical shocks from "metal bits" in her kitchen. I asked "what metal bits?" and they responded by saying the dishwasher, oven and hob etc. The oven is on its own...
hey all after a bit of advice doing some diagrams for kitchen layout for intergrated fridge freezer and intergrated washing machine just seeing if my diagram was correct. Any advice will be appreciated many thanks.
Greetings.
Friend of mine has a fridge freezer and a standing freezer that need RCBO protection.
Both these appliances run off the same socket which is a separate radial so easy to protect as it will only be these two items on this one particular circuit.
I am not sure of the starting current...
Can anyone help me, I've been asked to do an inspection on a property that is on a single 32A ring, including the kitchen. The appliances are all integrated and aren't spurs. Is there a way to perform the test with these appliances in place?
Thanks!

Further to the recent post about testing fixed wired appliances, I found the replies helpful, but would appreciate if someone would be able to give a definitive answer on one particular point.I am quite confident in disconnecting the wiring from the fused socket and inserting the flex into a...
Hello, I'm just having a debate with one o my fellow work colleagues, when you go to fit out a kitchen do you use 13amp or 20 amp switches for your fixed appliances e.g fridges, freezers, washin machines etc ?
Customer rang to say his washing machine trips the circuit in the middle of the cycle. He said, it ran for a while and stopped. Enquired on the phone and it looked like it only tripped the MCB and the RCD stayed on.
It's on a radial circuit with 16A MCB. Could someone shed some light on this...
How do others connect integrated appliances. By a FCU above the worktop controlling a remote socket below, a bank of FCU, or 13a socket in adjacent cupboard to allow appliance to be plugged in?
OSG states that Kitchen Appliances built into kitchen furniture (intergrated appliances) should be...

:cool4: Does anyone have any experiences (or know of any websites - I've drawn a blank) - about using the bluetooth data available from some inverters (mine is a Sunny Boy 4000TL with a 3.9kw system) to make semi intelligent decisions to control x 10 modules and turn on home appliances, such as...

Hi i know this might sound silly but i guess if you don't know then the best thing is to ask.
I was wondering about distances and hights of kitchen points, i usually put the high level points 150mm above work top and low level ones around 600mm from the finished floor level. The closest I put...
Hi there.
Just looking for a bit of advice, I recently carried out an electrical installation within a kitchen, I never installed any new cables just repositioned the existing cabling.
I used two switched spurs to switch a under shelf fridge and freezer fed from an existing ring circuit...

Hi guys,

We are installing a new kitchen with the following cooking appliances - Combination Microwave rated at 3.2kW, Oven rated at 3.55kW and Hob rated at 7.2kW making a total of around 60A!
The plan was to supply both the oven and hob from a 45A cooker connection unit with a DP isolator protected...
Hi guys. Had a callout a couple of weeks ago. 32aRCBO trips every 6 to 7 days. After doing insulation resistance, R1 R2,earth loop ect, and not finding anything i decided it was faulty and replaced.
Its still tripping out. The customer has marked it on the calendar every time its gone. Usually...
When carrying out the visual , there are a lot of these cables fitted with 13 amp 1652 fuses. Is the reason for this due to start up currents of appliances??.
.75 is good for around 6 amps i believe so 13 amp will not protect cable from overload. I guess the appliance would have some kind of...
Hi all,
