I have just read about this Today in the Installer Magazine [Gas related]:
A `Gas Fitter` soldered a copper joint on a Gas pipe next to an Electrical cable - He burned the insulation on the cable which He `repaired` by putting some insulation tape over the burnt area - arcing...
Why do the Neutral connections seem to burn out more than the line?
Is it because the Neutral collects more debris, harmonics and all sorts of junk like that?
It seems that the Neutral conductor connections are the ones to watch and I am not sure why.
Any opinions are welcome.

When we first moved into our house about 16 years ago the whole of the downstairs power, including the kitchen was re-wired by Eastern Electricity. The ancient fuse box was replaced to a Wylex consumer unit (I think 12 way) with mcb's and 1 rcd in it.

I read somewhere that i could clean my amplifier inside with this product, i promptly bought some and sprayed it all inside, switches, pcb etc. I am now worried that i may have overdone it and do not want to power up incase something untoward occurs. Could someone please advise me on this...
Hi got a problem with a PIR I am doing got small arcing when putting bond on to main gas pipe getting .5v when measured across pipe and bond had gas board out they proved that incoming pipe is in plastic disconnected all earths and still getting it discon earths and neutrals still getting it.
