Hi
Installing a grid switch off the ring final circuit - supplying: fridge, dishwasher, gas hob ignition and cooker hood. I was thinking of spuring off the ring into a fuse grid module and then into each switch of the grid? Would you do this?
Thanks in advance.
Regards, David
Just playing around with a starter kit and the panels have MC3 connectors I have a load of MC4 connectors and crimper. Is it OK to cut off the MC3 connectors on the panels and change to MC4?
I know i can get convertors but thats more cost!

Looking to re-wire my house and don't know whether to go with wylex or mk.

I'm trying to find out what range this module light and dimmer switch are from.
The dimmer has the ability to be remote controlled and I think it is also parallel wired.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Before i sell off my dewalt kit... I was thinking about keeping what i think is the best torch i have ever used for work. With a good charged battery it goes for hours. I changed the bulb to a LED version for even better life and it has a nice scratch free lens! it can put a spot on a house...
Well what a day..
Got to my job today, got all my kit out ready for a first fix, walked into the building and started to move all the junk out my way in the room I was in, lifted up a light weight timber door frame and then my back just went 'ping'!!

Hi all
When contemplating the coming year one of my ambitions would be to be more organised Just wondered how many of you use an electronic form of diary/job sheets & how good you find them
Nb at the mo I am only concerned with myself not a number of employees (but maybe in the future)
I have been a practicing electrician for 6 yrs. didnt complete my c&g 2360 p1& p2 at college after school.....long story short i have my 17th and am going to do my 2391 in November. Personally i thought that would be enough to get a job with a firm but it seems to be 85% of the jobs i find on...

Hi guys,
I wonder if you know what will be better - a big 17kW three phase inverter or 3 x 6 kW single phase ones?
Are there any pros and cons and why?
Thanks in advance

Assuming most of you will be familiar with a typical 17th Edition consumer unit having 2x RCD's split, I'd be interested in knowing what concensus of opinion is on upgrading some of the less ancient 16th Ed split-load boards instead of replacing whole thing?
I'm thinking rather than lose half...
Hi all
A recent board change on TNS, found the Ze at 1.35ohm:( So made into TT but only getting 210ohm
thru rod. Board is all RCD so would it not be a better installation if we were allowed to use the TNS + the RCDs
After all we have the magic number of 1667ohm
cheers
which one is better? sole trader probably is more flexible and only myself do the job, however once something goes wrong my property might be at risk, so is it a better idea to have a limited company?
i like many others in the country atm am just about to finish C+G 2330(as well as part p, regs, inspect and test and pat test) and am at the stage of looking for the rare thing of an apprenticeship/ training position.
