Hi all
A recent board change on TNS, found the Ze at 1.35ohm:( So made into TT but only getting 210ohm
thru rod. Board is all RCD so would it not be a better installation if we were allowed to use the TNS + the RCDs
After all we have the magic number of 1667ohm
cheers
which one is better? sole trader probably is more flexible and only myself do the job, however once something goes wrong my property might be at risk, so is it a better idea to have a limited company?

Hi all, just sitting flicking through the internet feeling wide awake and full of turkey and roses when i happened upon this little forum of yours, have to say i have enjoyed reading the posts and the very friendly advice and semi- intelligent replies (only joking) that i thought i would join...
A megger mft1552 or a Metrel MI3100 Eurotest Easi 17th Edition Tester? The metrel is £75ish cheaper - is the megger still a better buy - any opinions welcome as i have no real experience of either. Thanks
Hombres,
Anyone else have trouble with the lead crocs on the Megger MFT? They give me wildly varying readings depending on how they're connected, size of cable, single core/multi-strand, standing on one leg or two, time of month, etc.
Anyone have any recommendations for a better replacement set?
Found this whilst browsing for a Tester for my Level 3...

Guys
a client has asked for a outside socket do you think it would be better to have a rcd socket or when spuring off
of a ring main add in a rcbo into the board instead
Cheers
Pete

Can anyone point me to the part in the regs that explains when the neutral needs to be broken for isolation.
I'm looking in the case of a three phase sub board main incoming switch - when to use 3 and when to use 4 pole. And isolator switch for fixed appliance, again 3 phase - linked neutral...

hi, could anyone please advise me if:
i can take a feed from a spare mcb in fuse box to an rcd mounted next to it, or must i take the feed from meter tails?

so i need to rcd the ring and not sure on how i can achieve this...
Hi all, I am looking for advice on which Competent Persons Scheme to join? After been involved with Auto Electrics some years ago I have been in Manufacturing ever since. However, due to the current downturn and following my interest in Domestic Electrics I decided to re-train and subsequently...
Is THIS much better than THIS. I can get the kewtech for approx £250 (about £175 cheaper than the metrel) but is it really comparable ? any opinions gratefully received.
Been reading the forum for a few weeks now but not posted. So I thought I would post this at least.

Hi again Chaps....
So, given the number of training centres, and the hugely various prices they charge for courses, is there one which in your opinion offers both quality training and value for money. I'm looking at 17th Edition and an EAL course for a start. I don't mind paying extra for a...
