Hi all,
I have a problem with two sets of 12V LED under cabinet lights. Set 1 is a set of 6 lights under the kitchen cabinets. Set 2 is a set of 4 lights above in glass cabinets. The problem is set 2 flicker/pulse every 20/30 seconds whilst set 1 is on and only when set 1 is on.
I have IR’d...
Hi,
One of our earth cables is routed in-front of the rear of a kitchen cabinet. See photo.
This cable goes down to the gas mains/meter pipe and then up into the ceiling, and then I assume into the electrical consumer meter area.
Can I safely just cut this earth cable, re-route it behind the...

I have recently taken over in the IT side of a medium company and one of the things I have noticed is a terribly installed wall mounted Data cabinet.
I have spent the weekend sorting it all out so it all comes up to spec but wanted to clarify on some points.
It is currently mounted on the wall...

I'm about to do a kitchen refurbishment, where my client is buying socket faceplates, lighting etc, I know!
They have bought some under cabinet lighting under cabinet round light in cool white 6000k - https://led.me.uk/kitchen-lights?product_id=240, which only has a 75mm of lead. I had thought...
As above, what is the consensus here. If a switch fuse is fitted in an external meter cupboard, does this count as a similar assembly and have to be non combustible?
I've had to do a couple recently and have used the Wylex A3 unit, which is a really nice bit of kit, but its a bit of a beast...
Hi people,
Can you please help me out.
I guy on site has sent back some marked up sketches of changes done on site.
On is a change to some 3rd party grease systems we added. 2 off. Each system has its own dedicated breaker and circuit.
What he has done, to stop them running all the time, is...

I have been asked to do a partial rewire of a 1960s maisonette. The CU and meter are housed together in a metal cabinet. The CU is attached at the back but the meter is attached to the door rather than the back. The existing cables have exposed copper where they enter the meter, probably from...
Hi,
I have just changed my under counter cabinet lights. but every 5 (about) i switch them the MCB trips. there is 3 starters and 1 led strip lights coming off each. Each LED strip is 11w, so shouldn't be an issue. I have done a bit of trial and error and its seems it will trip with 2 sets on...
Hi there,

Just been to look at a hot tub job, and the C.U. is built into the kitchen cabinets, with the tails running up the inside of the cavity wall from the external meter cabinet.
To save ripping their kitchen to pieces I'd like to just use Henley blocks to install a new small CU and tails. I am...
