Hello,
Just need a bit of advise, I am a qualified apprentice served electrician, after a friend has just asked me to look at wiring in and altering some new lights within his bathroom, the work would of been easy enough to do but I informed them that the work was notifiable and that I was not...

I've installed a basic chatroom. It's accessible via the arms (pub) and also by clicking Chatbox Full in the main blue menu (under the orange menu). I'm still testing it, so if it breaks something else it will have to go. No tears if that's the case please.
You need 30+ posts to use it. No...
Hi Chaps,
I've been working as a mate/labourer with my dad (spark) since I was 15. I'm now 21 and need to get my qualifications. College was out of the question this year, due to up front financial requirements, so I looked around a bit and stumbled across ATL Practical Training.

Good evening all,
Anyone used any of this yet?
Reason I ask is that it's on offer at the minute, 2.5mm 100M for £47.
Apparently it's made by Prysmian so should be OK would you think?

Was at a property today, haven't finished the test there yet but they have a 9kw shower being fed with 6mm. Run of 2-3 metres into the isolator in mt4 and then chased another 2 metres behind tiles to...

I am installing a 6mm T&E circuit on a 32amp MCB (on an RCD protected board) for a 3.5kw Bosch oven. The 6mm is going to a 40amp dp isolator. The oven has a factory installed plugless prewired cable. How do I ensure that the oven cable has adequate protection?
By this I mean that...
I have been asked to wire up 50 door switches (similar to Door Switch Surface - Push to Break - 2 Amp - White)
The problem is as these are to be mounted just under the top of the door (to operate) the terminals will be within reach and wont meet IPX4 requirements - any ideas?
I can seem to find...
Forgive me but I can't search existing threads as the app just crashes each time. I'm looking at fluke mft's and would like to know which is best, why and of any issues. I did have one years ago but it did give some odd readings now and then and don't really want that again.
Those who can't...
Going shopping tomorow. Thinking of buying above.
Anyone have one.Are they a good piece of kit, user friendly??
Any tests they can't do,with regards to installation tests and periodic? I can't think of any.
Thanks in advance
I'm doing some work on my own house (makes a change!) and have had a ground floor extension built which will soon be ready for 1st fix, heating is going to be electric underfloor as it can't be part of existing rads due to building regs.
Just wondering what you guys use and recommend?

ALDI are currently selling a set of three 1m SDS drill bits, 12mm 16mm and 24mm for £10. Not something I would expect to use much and not something I would expect to be great quality, but for that price I think worth having in stock.
Hi all just a quick one may sound really stupid what is the name of the flexible meter tails inside a distribution board used to link busbar and main switch etc I need to purchase some in 6mm but can only find normal double insulated meter tails and was wondering what this cable is actually called?

Mobile valeting is awesome I'm sat with a cold beer watching two lads cleaning my van sweating their backsides off, I did offer them a cuppa soup but for some reason they declined! , there's no pleasing some people.
I finally had a brain wave and used Wagos for central heating. I did it after realising i only had pieces of connector strip and not a whole strip and i thought it would look naff. Hunted through the van and found my wago box and voila i shall never go back
Hi guys can't find them anywhere but they are cable ties with a rawl plug attached, you fold the plug together push in the hole and then hammer the pin in to secure, can't remember what they are called?!!
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know where I can buy a kopex/flexible conduit cutter? A few have said they exist but I can't find one anywhere! I have seen the RotoCut tool but not sure if this is what I'm after.
Thanks
