Hi
Given that...
Total Installed Capacity (TIC) is the maximum capacity at which an Eligible Installation could be operated for a sustained period without causing damage to it (assuming the Eligible Low-carbon Energy Source was available to it without interruption), a declaration of which is...
Ok Senior members explain to me in simple terms please :) whats the point of fitting a 4kwp system if your inverta is set to G83 and will only push out 16 amps ie the 3680 max your allowed? if all invertas are set to G38 then can they push out more?

Hello all
I was wondering if anyone could help me understand why our toaster came with a 0.75 sq mm flexible cable with 13A BS1362 fuse on the plug.
In class we've learnt that the rating of a protective device has to be lower than the current carrying capacity of the cable it protects.
But...
Does anyone know which table I should be looking in to calculate the current carrying capacity of 4mm PV cable and also how to do the derating calc for the Non conformities in my MCS inspection?
I installed a 6 panel Mitsubushi system with the +ve and -ve legs of the string measuring 15m each...
how would i determine quickly if i have sufficient spare capacity on
a TPN final board for an additional load?
also i'm working off 4% total allowable VD(16volts)- should i allow a percentage for the 3P final circuit as the length/VD on sub-main isn't obvious?
I'm trying to find the definitive words on how re-using solar panels affects a customers ability to claim FiTs, I can't see it clearly defined in the Feed in Tarrif documentation anywhere.
Say, for example, they wanted to re-install the panels to a new house, my understanding is that they...
Hi, I am about to install my first 10kw system, the project manager has bought 6mm T&E and a 45A MCB. The cable run is 30 meters. Doesnt seem right to me. any suggestions?
Thanks
Hi all
Can anybody tell me the breaking capacity of a BS 3371 circuit breaker? On the side of the breaker where it mentions breaking capacity it just says 'M9' , which I guess is some kind of reference.
Did a quick google search but to no avail.
Cheers
John
Hi we have a welder which can pull upto 32A according to the spec. It says I(max) 32A.
The circuit to the garage has a 16A MCB at the consumer unit. It's only powering two double sockets however am going to add a commando. So I wondering if 32A MCB would sufficient or would it have to be bigger...
Im working in africa right now, I have 2 sets of regs, SANS (South African national Standard) and BS7671;2008... anyway to cut a long story short, both regs state different current carrying capacity for eg 70mm 4 core buried direct, a huge difference, I know the BS7671;2008 regs as my own, and...
Can anyone tell me the current carrying capacity of a 400 mm copper, insulated flex with non armored sheath , manufacturer has supplied a table(4f1a) but says two single core cable , rating them at 644A. the cable number from the manufacturer is 1227798371.
Just so you know it will be a group...
Alright, in the OSG table 7.4 for 3036 fuses it says device designation S1A, S2A and S4A. So what's the scc of the 5A, 16A and 30A fuses of the old domestic wylex boards? 1,2 or 4?
Hi if you are are running 6mm T&E in plastic trunking fastened to masonry what installation method is this? I would normally use table 4D5 of the brb for T&E but nothing there quite fits so would 4D2A, ref method B and 38amps be the best fit - cheers.
Main fuse carrier says 100A 415V BS88 1967 on it.
Looking in OSG page 57 for short-circuit capacity there is a BS88-2 and BS88-6.
How do I know which I have?
Thanks
Rich
Hi Guys
Any advice would be much appreciated!
I have tested a property that has a PFC greater than the short circuit capacity of the mcb's protecting the final circuits, the PFC is 7.9KA and the 60898 mcb's 6KA. The property is protected at origin with a 1361 type b fuse 16.5KA. Under the...
