Hello, I have an old 16A Wylex SK type B plug-in breaker in the fuse box in my garage which keeps tripping, and every time (and only at that time) the 32A one of the same type supplying the whole garage in my home's main box also trips. It isn't happening fast, sometimes it takes days to happen...

It doesn't immediately trip out but it usually always turns back off after an hour or two, it doesn't immediately trip out. Do you think I need a new plug? Can a device plugged into another circuit trip a different...

Tool used to detect all wires gauge on a circuit?

I have a breaker that keeps popping when we turn on the Christmas lights. I know the lights don’t have much draw however they are on the same circuit as a reef tank which does have a large draw from a 4000gph pump as well as other filters and pumps. I wanted to upgrade the 15 amp to a 20 amp. I...

Hi Weird problem. I’m replacing plug sockets. I isolate the circuit for the particular sockets at the fuse board so it is safe to swap out. All good. Suddenly the RCCB for all sockets - not just the circuit of the sockets I have isolated - trips. Why is this happening? The RCCB doesn’t trip...

Need dedicated circuit for water heater, range, dryer?

Someone wants me to put a water heater(30 amps), range(40-50 amps) and dryer(30 amps) all on a single 60 amp circuit. I said that's a bad idea. They have a 100 amp main panel and all these devices would total 100 amps minimum. I am hesitant to run all these off the 100 amp service even with...

Ring Final Circuit - spurs only

I read that it is against the regs that a ring final circuit cannot be just a ring with with spurs off it. In short, a ring must have sockets on it which double up as junctions. I find that hard to believe.
