Hello,
I am in the process of training to be an electrician and have a question. When filling out a EIC for a new circuit am I required to test all the other circuits in the board as part of the schedule of test results or only circuits I have installed/altered when completing?
If just my new...
Hey Everyone,
Currently at work I've been tasked with wiring the emergency lights. As I've never done it before, and my foreman wants me to learn how to do it. It's wired in a way he's not familiar with, but he eventually got his head around it. It's maintained em lights wired with normal...
I have a chance to pick up 50ft of 8/3 for $100. What's the risk of using this for my RV, 50 amp circuit? Here's the deal though. I have no plans to live in this RV. I just want to run the refrigerator and keep the batteries charged. Maybe run one A/C if I'm working in it. Never use a hair...
Replace of 45amp Fuse with 50amp CB on 10mm2 cable?
Is this okay because of the 0.9 derating of fuse to overloads and because 10mm2 can handle 50Amp current. Installation in air equivalent double brick unit?
Hi,
I've just had some electrical work completed in the bathroom; I've recently refurbished the bathroom, replacing the old electric shower with a mains/mixer. I had bought an inline fan and a separate humidistat/run-on timer module with the idea that it could be installed using the old...

Hi
Pretty new here, so not sure if this question goes into this thread
I am not an electrician; however, I plan to integrate IOT devices and smart energy meters into the electricals of a house of multiple occupancies.
The house will have six bedrooms, 2 on the ground floor and 4 on the first...
Hi all, does anybody know the name of this circuit and how it operates and the purpose of each component please? any help is much appreciated.

Could someone please explain to me what this circuit is used for? I believe it is a full wave bridge rectifier but I'm unsure as to what the zener diode is used for in this arrangement?
Thanks in advance
When doing an EIC for an additional circuit (which only covers that circuit), does the 'main switch/switch-fuse/circuit-breaker/RCD' section refer to:
a) the MCB you're adding for the new circuit
b) the existing main switch (whatever it is) for that board
c) [if the DB the circuit is added to is...
Hello.
So, I would like to know how I can choose the correct circuit breaker value when doing a new installation.
My example is: I have 16 rooms. Each room has its own electrical board (main breaker is a 220v, 32A, a lighting cb and one for socket outlets) I want to add a LV switchboard or a...
Hi ,
Currently doing a design project in college and I need to pick a circuit breaker ( In device rating and type) for a food holding equipment unit that requires a 16A 400V three phase and neutral supply that is supplied by 5 core SWA. I think I should pick a 16A 3P+N RCBO but wasn't completely...
I am having a flat roof constructed with solar panels over. As it is a cold, vented flat roof I will be having 175mm of Cellotex insulation immediately above the ceilings which I am reluctant to dig into to fit downlights (which I have never been the world's biggest fan of anyway). My thoughts...
Is it possible for a single dimmer switch to control two circuits, one which dims and the other which is a discrete on/off? I would like to be able to dim downlights while also switching a non-dimmable bathroom mirror on/off from one switch.
Many thanks
It's all coming out anyway so it's an acedemic question.
Would a Bill consumer unit be comparable with Eaton breakers?
An Eaton main switch and mcbs are installed so height differences won't be a problem.
I'm changing it for full rcbo with spd board anyway.
