    Hi, A landlord showed me a blue PIR form given to him by a ELECSA registered electrician. Does this mean the electrician was registered to do PIR under his 'domestic electrician' umberella or not? Any ELECSA member would be able to answer this, many thanks!

    Cut through an alarm cable

    Don't know where it goes to (magnetic contact we think) but the Customer is happy to have that cable disabled. There are four wires - do I simply wrap all four together so the rest of the alarm can be switched on ?

    Why the colour scheme for BS951 earth clamps?

    Can anyone explain to me why we have different colour earth clamps? I know that red is for dry environments, blue for damp/corrosive and green same as blue but for larger diameter earth wires. Why can't we use a single colour for all environments, the clamps appear to me to be made the same?
