I am about to put up a new light fitting, thge colours from the ceiling are blue, black and green/yellow, I know the green/yellow is earth and I am thinking the blue is neutral and the black live, is this correct? The colours on the new fitting are blue and brown.

this may be an old chestnut, but i am a recent visitor to this site so, here's my views for what they are worth.
is anybody liking the silly colours. used to be easy to tell red from black in a dark cupboard. now can't tell brown from grey from blue, when using 3 core on single phase, eg SWA...
All the wiring diagrams for heating systems I've noticed aren't in colour so I thought I'd have a go at doing my own. Go easy, its not perfect but I wanted to see what you guys thought.
Its really for a new install as its all new colours and ive deleted the CPC's for clarity.

I am used to just opening up a main fuse carrier to determine the fuse rating.
If this is not possible I will go by the stated rating labled on the carier. (often wrong anyway)
