Evening all,
A job I am on as an aside the customer asked me to have a look at the heating/hot water system as the hot water is not heating up. It is an unvented system with vaillant boiler and combistore cylinder.
Anyway I tested up to the tank stat/cylinder control and found power up to it...
There is as new combi drill coming out brushless and 125nm worth of torque apparently the side handle may as well be a scaffold pole! Also around the same time there will be a 5ah battery launch!
Currently out at the minute is the 36v range but instead of needing an expensive 36v battery that...
Wired an s plan recently and used the orange from each honeywell to send a switched live back to the boiler, after removing the link.Is this the best practise way,or should the greys and oranges of the valves be bridged across the control terminals of the boiler,as voltage free contacts?Thanks...
Hi chaps, it's been far too long!
Had an email offer from Screwfix earlier advertising this DeWalt combi with 3 x 1.3Ah li-on batts.
DeWalt DCD776C3 18V 1.3Ah Li-Ion Cordless Combi Drill XR | 18V Cordless Combi Drills | Screwfix.com
I know 1.3Ah batts aren't ideal and won't last all day, but...
A big gap in my knowledge (amongst others I can humbly admit !!) is boiler wiring.
I read in professional electrician magazine about mr combi courses.
As someone who knows not a lot about heating I was wondering if this course would be good to give me the basics. I can follow wiring diagrams...
Now i always thought a combi drill could be used for wood and masonry. I have a mains sds for chasing and big masonry work but Time and time again i use my combi to drill 6mm and 7mm holes for wallplugs. I often question why you would need an 18/24v sds when combi can do the same job. 36v ones...

any one recommend a decent set?
I am having a new Combi boiler installed soon and just want to check the wiring that was fitted 20 years ago is still up to standard, it is 1.0mm twin and earth, going into an MK 13A DP switched fused connection unit, 3A fuses fitted, and 5A MCB in CU, would 1.5mm be better.
Hi,
I know this has been discussed many times on here, but am about to buy one and don't really know which to be honest.
At present I have a Makita combi which is ok, but I wanted something that was a little more meaty and had more go. Then I read on here that people say get a impact driver as...
Hi Guys,
I've done a quick drawing of how I think I should be wiring in the thermostat. Can anyone take a look over it to see if i've got it right.
Cheers
Just ordered one of these off amazon, Makita BHP458RFE with 2x 3Ah batteries, charger and case for £179 inc vat and postage.
Seemed like a decent deal, if it's no good i'll send it back!

Morning all, First time post here although I've lurked about a bit before looking up information on how to do stuff without overly killing myself.
Living in a rather exposed location on the side of a hill, we tend to have a little more than our fair share our electricity cuts in winter, which...
