    Domestic smoke detectors?

    Is their any sort of certification required for changing a smoke / heat detector in domestic premises, I did & smoke / heat & decibel test but can't find anything regarding paperwork. Thanks.

    hi. I had a phone call from a customer who want me to install combined fire and smoke detectors in his 6 bedroom (three floors)house.Is he after ordenary smoke and heat alarm or something else ? what sort of cable or system need to install? thanks

    evening everyone,can anybody help me,today the building inspector has pulled me up on fitting smoke detectors between some 3"x2" beams @ a barn conversion i have just wired,they are mounted directly on the plasterboard ,he wants me to bring them flush with the beams,cant find anyting in...

    As on another thread, smokes on their own or from lighting circuit? Must admit, i would install them alongside a regularly used lighting circuit. So what would you do?

    local authority smoke alarms

    Hi Guys ,friends house was rewired 3 yrs ago.........contractor installed 3 x mains powered smoke detectors with battery back up smoke detectors which can can be tested and silenced via double gang test switch...........problem ocurrs approx 9pm each evening ..........sounders start blasting...

    Smoke detectors + 17th edition

    Doing a rewire at the mo , its my 1st one under the new regs , going to use a 17th edition double split RCD board , are the mains smokes ok to go on one side of the board ? or do they need to go on there own RCBO Cheers Ste
