    EICR - estimating dates of alterations and additions

    I find it relatively easy to judge the age of additions and alterations to installations with some degree of accuracy (I think). One useful clue can be the date stamp or sticker on accessories and MCBs etc.. My problem is I don't know how to read most of them. Is there a method I am unaware...

    Bending conduit…A bit different

    Not a job of mine but was asked about making a frame out of 25mm conduit. Not a single wire involved in this project. What ID radius can you bend 25mm 180° to using a standard Hilmore bender? Nothing to do with sledges or anything along those lines.

    Very Early type of Socket

    I have seen a very early type of surface mounted wall socket, and it is now not in use. It has 4 flat pins, all horizontal, and they are set up as a cross with one at the top etc. A photo has been added. It may have been imported into New Zealand in the 1900's but I could not disern the maker...

    Database of installations....where is it?

    A while ago I had a spreadsheet which showed every MCS installation in the UK and who did it, where is that damned thing, I'd like to see how I compare to my local competitors but I can't find it.

    shaded panels weird effect.

    In the cold mornings as the sun rises, there is condensation on my panels. I noticed a weird effect on my shaded panel and took a pic. Is this as expected?
