Would you apply diversity to a integrated fan oven?
For instance a 3.5kw fan oven is never going to pull 3.5KW
So using normal cooker diversity it would bring current down to around 11A from 15A
Meaning a FCU would be ok as opposed to a new circuit?
Hi, please be kind to this Electrical Trainee fresh out of the forces. This is my first question on the forum. One thing that was not discussed in depth on my course was diversity, and reading up there seems a fair bit of subjectivity and difference of opinions on it.
Now that I have my shiny new quals...
Hi, i am attempting to do the 2396 exam and in the process of doing a practice paper.
Qu. A distribution circuit is to be installed using a new three-phase and neutral 100A distribution board within an industrial installation. assumed demand per phase is 100A following the application of...
Hello All, Just wondered if you have time to answer a quick question.
For maximum demand on a three phase final circuit i.e A 20 A TP-N supply. Do I have to allow 20 Amps for each phase without further calculation.
Hi everyone, I am looking to find out the diversity factor on air conditioning units. Never worked with them before and am finding different details online. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated. thanks
From what I can gather, there are two types of diversity application that stand out to me.
1) diversity based on the load type (street lighting = 1 and sockets = 0.6 for example)
2) what I call 'probability' if we have 10 socket circuits fed from a DB then we apply a diversity to the collective...
Help Needed !!
The wife has just purchased a hot tub off eBay! I am a spark but not a bright one!! I was just looking into what's required for the supply and they are stating 8-10kw load 32-40amp supply. To an an isolator and have Rcd protection.. yeah ok so far. I know about the zones regarding...
I'm curious as to what diversity any of you may apply to a commercial kitchen. All electrical appliances. So far I've added everything up and total max demand before diversity is 220amps.
I've applied 70% overall at the mo but just wondered what others would think.
Here's a littlediversity calculation challenge for anyone who wants to have a go atit,
Below is a list of allof the connected loads I had on a music festival over the last weekend, this represents the total connected load across the whole site, thechallenge is to calculate what the actual load is...
Hi, could someone explain me the difference between sum of individual maximum demand and connected load.... do you think it is the same, ?
And the answer for this exercise is what exactly, ?I have some confussion in the calculation...
A power supply is having the following loads,
A domestic...
Hello all,
I have been to a job where they have an exsisting zanussi zdf 5-5.5kw double oven and a gas hob. The customer wants to replace the hob with a hotpoint cra641dc 6.6kw ceramic hob. The current supply is 6mm t/e on 32a mcb rcd protected. They do not want a new supply put in for hob so...
Hi, first post so please accept my apologies for going straight in with a question.
Sorry if this is a bit long winded but I thought knowing the full story may help.
We bought an old semi detached cottage about 7 months ago which is at the end of a 320m overhead LV supply. Initially this...
Thought I'd throw this out there and see what others think. We're working working on a boiler house and storage room separated by an internal wall which is all a separate building to the house. Supply is coming from the house into the new building as a sub main and contains...

With the increasing use of high power electrical devices in caravans, including I am told electric hobs! Has anyone any idea what sort of diversity one should allow for a site with five caravans with a 16A supply to each pitch? The owners are also considering a 10A pitch supply which would...
Hi all was wondering if you could clear something up for me.
Have a meeting with an electrical designer in the morning for a project I'm working on, I'm not involved in the electrical side as such just been asked to go along as another input/person around the table. My question is as follows:-...
Evening all.
Customer needs a new oven and electric hob. The current setup is 6mm T+E on 32A MCB, RCD protected, about 8M run, reference method 100. The oven they are looking at is 10.5KW. I initially thought that was too much but after adding diversity it seems ok. Are my calculations ok as I...
Can someone please just check over my working & diversity calcs for the following CU change:
Supply is 100amp TNC-S with 25mm tails, 16mm Main earth & 10mm bonding so all good there.
Working from OSG Table A2: Working off number 9 (Standard arrangement of circuits in accordance with Appendix H)...
Hi, clearly a new boy with a diversity question to ask. I need to install two new circuits for NAPIT to inspect and am running into a bit of trouble at the chosen site. The issue is one of diversity with two Consumer Units, as firstly there appears to be no guidance on the loading of...
I'm trying to determine the appropiate load to install a separate oven and ceramic hob (in a domestic kitchen). Obviously I will apply diversity to provide a suitably rated protective device & cable. However, I'm scratching my head on how to apply the diversity:
Is it:
1) Oven & hob total load...
Hi all
Am started a kitchen for a customer who knows it all he does want any floor lifting etc to save on mess. But the situation is existing 6mm in, is in good condition but there is a hob and double oven wanting to go in. Now the hob is 7.2kw and the double oven is 5.4kw . I would usually put...
