evening all,
I was told to run 2.5 cable from fuseboard to supply a 3.5 kw single oven. Job is done....
Now they've said theyre going to put in a 5.3kw double oven in.
Question i have is can I apply diversity to this and keep 2.5t+e or do i need to run a new 6mm,
advice would really...
hi guys
just a quick question
what diversity rules do you normally put to a commercial building, it will have offices with IT equipment, laundry room, kitchen etc
thanks
Dear All,
I am trying to calculate diversity for an installation. The DB has a 60A main fuse. TT system. Small 2 bedroom cottage. Unable to get converted to TNS
At the present time I have the following circuits
Up ring 32A MCB (2 Bedrooms)
Down ring 32A MCB (Small lounge & dining room)
Up...
OMG!! can somebody please point me in the right direction because i am sure that i am looking in the wrong section of the REGS book... here is my question...
Explain with reasons the New Assumed Current Demand of the Installation?
My answer is this...

Im pricing to wire an industrial shed. I would like some help in calculating the best rating for the circuit and the cable size.
It has as follows
8 x twin 58w fluorescents - switch or high freq (undecided)? 4A x 90% for diversity =3.6A
3 x 70w metal halides...
Hi All,
Been to look at a job, where customer wants to install 9.5kw shower. 3 Bed 2 storey flat.
Calculating the load on board at present with diversity comes out at 68.8A, if the shower was added calculations came to 94.6A.
Looking in the meter cupboard, the supply splits to 2 meters after...
I have a job to install a new 3 phase DB to supply 9 showers in a care home, it is an old installation and the main switch is only rated at 100a. how do i apply diversity to this to see if the existing mains would be adequate, thanks
Hello Troops,
This follows a thread from last week about SNE supplies, and many thanks to Tony for already having looked at this off forum just to check I'm not going mad!!
We get on a weekly basis someone posting about loading and worries, and we politely tell them about diversity and yes...
Got a few calcs here and would like anyone's opinion on the sypnosis here.I have got a small potery on a single phase supplyAt present there is a ring final circuit in there rated 32amp and 6 fluorescents in there 70watts each totalling 1.8 amps. That takes us to 33.8 maximum demandThey are after...
Hi all I'm struggling a bit with the calculations for max diversity on lighting circuits using the 66% of total current demand.
Could someone help me work these out
Three circuits
17 x 50 watts = 850 divided 230 x 66 - 243
10 x 50 watts = 500 divided 230 x 66 - 143
5 x 50 watts = 250...
Not a question as such, just a comment.
Customer has bought a rangemaster 17.4 KW. Has a 6mm feed about 12 metres from DB on a 32 amp breaker. I'm all for diversity but do think in the back of my mind sometimes that problems could occur...especially xmas day!!
Will install 10mm just to have...
Greetings.
I am wiring a large garage for a friend.

I'm doing a new installation in a 4 bedroom house, basicaly it's 60 amp main fuse,if the client will turn every light, every appliance&load the sockets,im sure 60 amp wil be not enough.i told that to a client that he needs an upgrade from edf, but he says he doesn't want to because it will take...
With storage heaters do you apply diversity on the circuit?
I need to replace a few which will consume a lot more than the old ones, now adding up to be 7.95 KW in total (34A). So would they be able to stay on the existing 32A ring or a new circuit added?
Cheers
Gents,
I'm applying for CEng through the CIBSE TRR route, my chosen subject determining maximum demands within commercial properties. I've been reading through some of the previous threads concerning manximum demand calculations and note almost everybody has a completely different approach...
I went to a customers (a friend) house today to inspect a faulty oven. He said that the mcb kept tripping so i disconnected the oven and turned circuit back on. It stayed on for about 30 seconds then tripped with quite a big bang. I did and insulation resistance test on the circuit and between...
Dear all
I have been asked to quote for some work at a property and am concerned at the maximum demand already present without me actually adding to it.
I would therefore welcome any thoughts on just how much diversity I can apply.
The consumer unit currently has ten circuits as...
I'm currently doing a project on a service station for college I need to work out maximum demand for 3phase 0.5kw motor circuit with power factor of 0.8 and efficiancy of 95%
Can any one help point me in the right direction of how to work this out???
I've just been to change an oven tonight, should have been a straight swap.
Large cooker isolator, fine, MCB at 32A, no RCD protection. Not brilliant, but OK for a like for like.
Isolate, remove oven, then find the old oven is plugged into a double socket, with the hob ignition in the other...
Hi Guys - my first job and I have been asked to put sockets \ lighting into a small building 100ft from the house - will
