Hi Folks,
I had a job today for a faulty downlight. It was a 12v with a 50w lamp run through a transformer rated up to 60w, there were only two lights runs off a one way switch, the other light worked fine and the light in question had been working fine previously. I tested for supply and got...
I have 6 LED downlights MID130 for sale with LED driver included.
They have been used for about 1 month in an exibition and they might have soft scratches but they are in a very good condition.
They are no glass model (no glass in front of the light).
Very powerful LED lights ideal for...
can someone please explain how under 17th edition you would connect (Loop) to mutiple downlights one to the next; from say, one switch?........ i.e should you use junction boxes, or can you just use connection strips/blocks.... or should you crimp the cable together.... if you crimp, how would...
I've been talking to a couple of customers about LED downlights. Since 10 or 12 are quite an investment and they're not commonplace yet, I thought a demo box might help them decide. I've included various lamps for comparison and three LED lamps which differ only in colour temperature as I think...

Guys DIY alert here.
So I about to install 3 sets (different circuits) of 3 downlights (9 lights in total) in my living room, the ceiling is down at the moment and I want to run in the wiring. I have already decided to use the click flow (ones with cable clamps) connectors to connect from...
Hi, I've been called in to finish work started by a Part P builder. After fixing numerous problems I'm left with one. Its a loft conversion and has 9 fire rated downlights. the problem is that he has 3 interlinked JB's that arent accessible and all lights are spurred off of these. I only ever...

what type of flex do you guys use for downlighter wiring, obviously just from the loop in, loop out JB, down to the fitting, now i know it will have to be high temperature/ heat resistant but what would the cable code be to look for in the catalogues,
thanks

how come there isnt a terminal for the cpc even on mains halogen fire rated downlights when the can is made of metal?? is it cos the terminals are insulated and then sit inside a plastic housing so they are double insulated i.e class 2?
Evening all.
I'm trying to source a downlight fitting for a customer and have been trawling the internet trying to find the style that they would like but have had no joy.
It is a twin fitting that allows the lamps to be independently adjustable and it's silhouette would share a similar shape...
Look at this down light I removed on a kitchen refurb recently
I knew there was a JB somewhere, but wasnt expecting this, I was shocked as the spark that is NIC EIC Approved as am I, did this in 2004, it has 9 twin and earths at it, he even brought the 2way to it for some reason.
Rough or what?
Thinking of putting these i the kitchen at home, thought this may be a good place to ask about what people who have fitted / used them think of them.
I'm thinking of getting the Natural White, but what do people think?
Morning Chaps/Chapesses,
I need to install some LED downlights in a kitchen ceiling with a standard 6"/150mm joist, but it's going to have wet underfloor heating for the rooms above clipped to it as well (as in, the floor boards, clearly).
I normally use the little Halers EVOLED units which I...
I have spent all day incorrectly fitting 15 downlights in my kitchen and I now really hate these bloody lights. they are inefficient, cheap, dangerous and dont even light very well and are a pain in the arse to install. Anyway as a result of me incorrectly fitting them many are now very close to...
hey guys..
just wondering what the problem might be.. Heres the scenario. Random Light bulbs constantly keep blowing on 3 seperate floors on the same side of the building which are all wired onto their own mini CU on each floor. The brand of lights are the Elco R.80 ES Adjustable Downlights...
Hi,
I am fitting a set of 15 kitchen downlights (50w) but have made the classic mistake of cutting out some holes right next to the joists. The manufacturers intructions dont actually mention distance from joist, just says keep 100mm from insulation material, however I have a concern over the...
