Earth leakage clamp meter

I've been looking at getting a clamp meter for a while but I'd like one that does earth leakage also, there isn't many about and the ones I have found are stupid money for the rare time they will get used, megger ones are about £350, I can't justify spending anywhere near this... Anyone...

Does it matter from which way the cable enters the clamp by that I mean should meter front be facing towards load or towards the plug socket?
