    Did a re wire on a village hall TT system , after reading the threads on rods i went for it, chucked away the 3/8 twig coupled together 3 5/8 rods and away i went driving away with my 4lb lump hammer 3.6m of depth and got my ZE down to 14 ohms so i guess thats a ok reading for a TT well bellow...

    Really low Ze from earth rod!

    Please be gentle... ...now I installed my first earth rod on saturday! I was expecting a really high Ze as up to 200ohms is allowed by BS7671. My Ze was 0.34. Does this seem odd to anyone that has done one/many before?

    Dear All, What are the 'tricks' to a good earth rod impedance? If I'm getting 30-40 ohms am I doing OK? Am I flogging a dead horse trying to get it any lower? I know the regs recommend under 200 ohms but what's the general concensus on what constitutes a good reading?
