I have been asked to test my friends renovated property, fully rewired, and said i'd do it for £100. He is a qualified spark but i did check his 1st fix work to verify his workmanship and all seemed ok to me. It has if i remember - 3 rings, 2 lighting circuits, cooker, smoke alarms, 2nd small...

Hello all... again :)
If I can see CPC connected correctly at a light fitting, and I have CPC at the switch, but I'm not getting a closed circuit when testing r1+r2 at this one particular light fitting (all the rest in the house are fine, good readings) - what would be an appropriate note to...
Completing my EIC's for assessment tomorrow with the NICEIC ... I'm used to using Elecsa certs and haven't come across 'Reference Method' before.
Changed CU, tested all circuits. Most of the cables are run either through the plasterboard walls (not in conduit, no thermal insulation), or...
Hi,
I am using my own editable EIC (not the Electrical Certificate Software from NICEIC) to print and issue to clients.
When I issue out these certificates to clients, should it have “Certificate Number issued by NICEIC” or can I use my own number sequence? Any feedback on this is much...

Usual nerves but the guy that assessed us today was brilliant, picked us up on a couple of bits and bobs, minor points, but we had some great conversation. thats it, all over and done with for another year.
Have been installing new 20 amp radials for socket outlets and lighting in a newly built office space in a small commercial unit. The new build office is part of a much larger building, and although it has its own CU, this in turn is fed from a 3 phase DB situated in the warehouse area, which in...
