Hi Everybody
Has anybody on here any experience of using a Bosch GMS 120 cable detector? The scenario I have is that I am working on a stone built cottage ,plastered with sand and cement which I guess was rewired 30 + years ago where all the cables have been plastered into the walls and not...
Can anyone recommend a decent cable stapler. The lads in work use the Rapid ones, but I don’t like them. I’ve used a Tacwise one which is okay. But I’ve seen an Arrow and Dewalt one. But if anyone could help that would be great.
Hi Guys
Anyone had any experience with the metrel mi3155 looking at changing my old fluke 1654b that ive had for a while. It seems to tick a lot of boxes and i basically want to future proof myself, ive watched a few vids of it online but none in English , so wanted to get some real world...
Hi All,
I am just about ready in my new workshop to buy and start using the 3 phase equipment i will need for my business. The biggest of which will be the press brake rated at 12.5kw max.
There will be a few other units but smaller - around the 1 to 3kw rating range, so with that i am looking...
Hello everyone,
I could not find any info on the forum so I am putting ths querry out as a new post.
I came across this tool and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what it is used for?
Cheers :)
Hi guys
I’m starting out on my own, whilst still in employment (I do shift work, so working around that). I’ve been looking at dozens of multifunction testers and the Martindale ET4500 really stands out to me, it’s got great features and at a good price. There’s not many reviews on it though...
Hi any one use a sleeving tool ? If so what one and would you buy it again if you lost it ?
I have this one 90110489 | Cable Sleeve Tool Plier Prong, For Use With Sleeves From 1.2 mm → 11.5 mm Diameter | RS Components - https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/cable-sleeving-tools/0548259/
But find it a...
Have had a Megger PAT4/DV3 for about 10 years and about to replace with a new tester. It cost me about £1K back then. Looking at buying a
Martindale EasyPAT 1600 PAT for £600 ish. It sounds like it will do all we need, but can't find any reviews.
Anyone have experience of these, and can give a...
As title.
Looking at my next addition - anniversary and crimbo coming up so want to get the pennies saved ahead of time.
Currently posses 2 Milwaukee M12 tools; Impact Driver and Combi Drill and love them, get constant abuse at college and home and are a joy to work with.
Looking at the next...
I don't know if it's just me but the prices of getting testers calibrated has seemed to have gone through the roof. I appreciate the kit isn't cheap, I got a quote for some myself a few years back, but when the guys drop in to do it in the wholesalers I've also seen how long it takes. I've just...
I'd always been a Makita kinda guy but i must say i'm not impressed whatsoever by their recent stuff, from about 2016 onwards. The chucks on the cordless drills are absolutely dreadful and the battery life leaves a lot to be desired.
They used to be my go-to but all i can assume is they've...
Been using my sds hammer drill last weekend drilling a core hole. just a milwaukee cordless one
Had a few issues with the core bit - jammed now and again, was a bit of a pig
but I come to use my drill again today and it seems that something is slightly bent (chuck maybe?)
I only think that...
Hi,
I after opinions on which M Class dust extractor is better for chasing and coreing holes.
I have narrowed it down to either the Bosch GAS35 AFC or the Metabo ASR35.
Any one used them both?
There's a lot of different PAT testing machines out there from £300 to close to £3000, I'm not going planning to do a lot of PAT testing but I think it is a good service to be able to offer, any reccommendations for any particular reason?
thank you very much
Anyone got a copy? Trying to download it but keep getting asked for a serial number - I don't have the machine yet so can't enter it.
Want to play with it before the machine arrives ?
As title, playing with test rig and running through dead tests; conductor continuity passes fine but if I try and do any range IR test it just won't have it.
I've tested the dead short to verify leads are ok and they are, I can't figure out why it's not running the test, it's a dead rig so no...
Good morning all,
I mainly work on boiler faults, and repairs. I sometimes have to install wireless thermostats, or renew the fcu switch. I’ve seen a video by an electrician about using a ratchet crimp tool, and a plumber with the same. I’m after some advice as I’m thinking to use bootlace...
