Hi Guys, Can anyone suggest where I can purchase a 4 Kw / 230v immersion element as in photo 1000mm in length. I have not come across one like it, or maybe it is a de-constructed element from a triple element unit. 3 are used for heating water in a Large ST/Steel vat. Any help would be much...
Just been to a customer's who has just had LVT type flooring installed on top of under floor heating.
Unfortunately now whenever its turned on, it trips the RCD. So seems the floor fitters have damaged an element.
Its in 2 sections, one reads 50ohm, the other is open circuit. So defiantly...
Customer complained of hot water running out quickly. Water cylinder has 2 elements in it, tested the top one, between live and neutral on low ohms. Got 19.2 ohms, tested the bottom one and got greater than 999, I’m assuming this is a faulty element
I noticed yesterday the element has starting bending down why is this happening and is it still safe to use until it can be replaced in a few weeks?
Thank you
Hello first post
I inherited a secondhand freestanding Belling Oven (make and model below)
BEL FSE 60 MF
Model Number 444449575
Serial number 31222241
Was working fine for just over 1.5 years until I smelt burning plastic. Disconnected the "cooker flip switch" power supply in my home's...
The electrical cord on my Holmes Ceramic Heater (HCH-4051) frayed at the entry point to the heater and while removing the frayed cord, I forgot to pair (mark) the wires on both sides of the enclosure before snipping the cord.
Upon inspection, I determined one wire from the electrical cord went...
Hello
So I was baking some bread in the beko 562 oven when suddenly one shard of glass fell onto the plate. Then another. Any idea what these are for and should I be concerned? The glass came from the grill element hole, on the backend of the oven ceiling.
Hi there,
DIY user looking for a bit of help, here. Our oven element has blown, so I ordered a replacement and opened things up to replace it. However, when I got to removing the old element, I was faced with these screws securing it to the oven casing (pictures below). Being pretty green when...
We have an electric towel rail where the element has gone. An electrician has said we would be as well changing the towel rail too. But there is nothing wrong with it. He says its hard to get the right element, is this true or is he pilling a fast one? I thought you just bought the correct...
Hi I'm about to replace a cooker element and seen the grey connector wires clip has blown. Is there a reason its done this? And how can i replace the clip or will the whole wire be damaged? Also is the white wire in the picture show damaged and dangerous because it looks like its been burn on...
Hello from a new member.
What has brought me here is a question about the nature of the supports inside an oven for a heating element. I'd appreciate advice.
I ordered a new element for the oven base but when I fitted it one side doesn't quite fit completely into a metal 'rest' bracket welded...
It is a 6.5kW thermostatically controlled water heater if you ignore the rest of the gubbins.
So that would be a Purpose #6 for diversity ie: None allowed. = 28A.
But you could treat if like a cooker too. Purpose #3 ie: 10A + 30% FL current over the 10A. = 15.4A
What do you think?
Thanks
I changed 3 x 125A fuses for 3 x 125A D type MCBs (ABB). They held for a day and then two started tripping, we didn't have any spare 125A, so we fitted 100A C type and the issue has disappeared, can anyone shed any light on this for me please?
Hi all, not really come across too many immersion heaters on my travels. Looking for a bit advice with this one I take it this has no thermal cut out and so should be coded as a C2? Many thanks in advance chaps.
Hi,
I need to change the element on my Bosch HBN2350GB oven and all the guides online show elements screwed to the back of the oven with normal screws. Mine though just had weird sticks as far as I can see. Does anyone know how to detach this/what tool is needed?
Thanks in advance!
My Neff double oven is tripping the MCB on the mains.
This occurs when I switch on any function of the top oven. The model is U1744N (around 15 years old). The top oven has a double element at the top (grill and oven) with a second element under the casing at the bottom of the top oven. The...
Hi just wanted some advice on replacing oven element . I've ordered one of ebay that stated it was for my oven but when i got it , it is 2100w 230v and my old one is 2800w 240v. Would this be ok to use? Ive connected it all up and it fits fine but as the voltage is higher on my old one but my...
Hi there, DIY'er here
I have an immersion heater that is not heating up water during the night on the cheap rate.
The booster switch "top element" still works fine, but I can't work out if the bottom element is broken or there is something wrong with the supply of electricity to the element...
