Am I correct in assuming that in domestic properties as long there is RCD protection and the fans are IPX4 there is not a requirement any more for fitting LV fans in special locations. If this is the case will the manufactuers start to only produce 230 volts units?:)

Can you still install mains voltage extractor fans in bathrooms? I fitted one the other month but a fellow spark just told me they now have to be low voltage?
Had our nic annual inspection recently and the inspector mentioned that fans are generally required to be protected by a 3a fuse. Fans generally on 6a light circuit. He recommended putting lights on a 3a mcb. We have taken to fitting pir fan with fused spur as isolator instead of traditional 3...

had a visit from the building inspector today , pulled me on a couple of things, 2 av sorted, but 1 i cant find a answer too.
apparently i HAVE to have a extractor fan in the bathroom. there is 2 windows in the room and its straight off the landing hence all house ventilation. need...
I have been asked to price a rewire, what I'm not sure about is should I insist that ext. fans be fitted to kitchen and bathroom as part of complying with 17th edition? If owner says no thanks can I still issue cert but list ommisions and reason why.
