HI
I am having my first assesment on Friday and am changing a consumer unit. I am very new to electrics and have a question about the continuity test.
The house has celing fans in every room and are very heavy, is there a way to test the lightning circuit for continuity without taking down...

Hi guys, quick question.

Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Was asked to do away with a speed controller for a vortice 23 9 ar wall fan.
The customer just wants the fan to work straight from a switched spur.
I have taken out the speed controller and there is a 4 cores going to the fan.
I know which the neutral is and have identified the L1, L2 & L3...
Hi All,
Just had our annual NICEIC inspection and all went OK we passed,:) !! anyway during the conversation it came up that there had been an instance of a 4" fan going up in flames. At the court hearing it came down to either the contractor was at fault or was it the fan. The manufacturers of...

Just wondered if anyone has any experience with industrial sweep fans?
Ive just replaced some in a factory, and the client thinks that they are going the wrong way.
Important that i add, the existing wiring means that we can only run these in the one direction. The idea is that...
I was wondering if any of you guys ever fitted a heat recovery fan. Does anyvody rate them as doing the job they are supposed to do. I am considering fitting one in my bathroom next year.
Existing bathroom full refurbs (not new builds): aiming to keep costs as low as possible.
Existing extractor fan working OK (several years old), client doesn't want a new one.
1: Is it OK to remove whist refurbing then replace? or once removed, MUST a new one be fitted to comply with regs?
2...
Anybody ever installed one of these and are they any use. Went to a clients house today to drill out through the wall for ducting for an extractor fan i a bathroom and she's informed me she wants a ductless fan?? Surely these wouldn't be efficient getting rid of moisture?
does anyone know if what im saying is correct, if a bathroom or anywhere that needs an extract fan has natural light the fan does not need to switch on with the light, if the room has no natural light the fan HAS to activate with the light. i cant remember but was having a convo with another...

Hi,
Does a humidistat fan need a Switched Live, it seems that it doesn't need to go ON with the light but just whenever the sensor says so. In that case does it just need a Permy Live and Neutral?
Cheers
Nick
Need to pick brains again . Got some new build jobs comming up and need clarification on whether you need to install a kitchen fan even if it has a ventilated cooker hood? Ive heard that it needs to extract 60ltrs/min.
Not quoted for this as developer hadn't requested it for the quote.
Feel a...
On a fan isolator you have a 3 core go to it cus you need a sw a perm feed and neutural am I right? Then a 3 core out to fan, well assuming I am right does this mean you can only wire off the first light of a circuit because that's where your perm feed goes into your loop and if you go off last...
