My daughter wanted a smart meter but when the fitter came he said he couldn't fit it because "the meter is on the same board as the CU".
I don't have a picture and she lives 120 miles away, but I do know that it is all in her understairs cupboard.
Is this something to be concerned about?

Hi All,
I've been curious for a while as to how my Solar PV is doing compared to a 'typical' install.
Recently, I purchased a Smappee (which is darn useful), and I have also now joined pvoutput.org which is now building a clear picture around my generation and usage.
However, I wanted a simpler...
Evening all..
My customer has a light fitting in a wine cabinet without a lamp in it. The lamp would be approx 22-23cm long. It looks like an S15 type tube lamp but I am unfamiliar with these and wanted to be sure. One reason why I am hesitant with regards the S15 lamp is that from the photos...

Hi,
Is it possible to fit an extra immobilising relay* to amodern car loom with start-stop fuel saving?
(in addition to the manufacturers standard immobilisingsystem)
This is the logic that I’d like =
Initial turn of key = only start engine if fitted securitysystem is happy to start AND...
Just watched a colleague try and fit 70mm double insulated mains tails in to a 100A main switch! Let’s just say the main switch won and leave it at that!

Evening,
Does anyone have a link to the ofgem report that shows how much of the quarterly allocation has been used to calculate the fit rate?
Trying to to work out if there will be anything left in the 10kw+ bracket at the end of March.
Thanks

I've had to run a 25mm 3core swa from meter (outside) to DB about 8m away, do I need to fit
a switch fuse or isolator switch in meter box?
Or does this only apply to meter tails more than 3m?
Thanks in advance
Hi All

anyway they mention that at present they are trying to contact company that installed it as their electric bills have gone up & they...
More on our take on this at the Leeds Solar blog
in short, bit of a kick in the teeth really, we had 3 customers lined up to have extensions put in based just on getting export payments, and that looked to me to be a sensible start on the gradual road to a zero FITs situation. Suppliers we'd...
Hi all,
Question for you all. Just been contacted by a client that i installed a strip light for 11 months ago to say that the light has just failed and its my responsibility to cover all costs associated with replacing the faulty unit. Surely I cant be held accountable for a strip light...
Just had a tweet back from Ofgem to say that they intend to release their updated FIT guidance next week.
Only 3 weeks after the scheme restarted / 7 weeks after the previous scheme closed.
OFGEM just published this: https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/system/files/docs/2016/02/fit_deployment_caps_that_have_been_reached_in_tariff_period_1_february_8_march_31_2016_as_of_09022016.pdf
Small PV is OK but the standalone cap was reached after just 1 hour of the new scheme being in effect. The...
