I want to fit an induction hob and separate oven. The supplier says the hob (7.35kw) needs a 30A supply and the oven (3kw) needs a SEPARATE 13A supply
However a stand alone cooker with induction hob is specified as 11.3kw (which is approx 45A) and it states that it needs a 30A fuse.

You know the ones, bolts attached to the back, fit the front, then fiddle with the dome nuts.

Apologies I know theres been a few threads about this and IR tests, but I'm still somewhat confused.
The way I understood how an RCD works is it measures the current flowing through the Line and the current flowing through the neutral on the return. If there is an imbalance of more than 0.03...
Hi,
I have a lighting circuit which trips the RCD, I’ve got pared back so that if I take one brand new light fitting and wire it directly into the consumer unit with a brand new cable - and still the RCD trips. If I remove that wire from the consumer unit and put a 3 pin plug on it, and plug...
Hi,
I'm looking for a replacement for this light fitting from my cooker extractor hood (see pic). Unfortunately, neither the hood or part have any brand markings on them. Anyone recognise it, or have any ideas where or how I could go about getting a replacement for it?
Many thanks!
Hi everyone
There are 2 light fittings to change in the living room I've changed the one at the back that was just twin and earth
These light closest to the. Switch has two brown and 2 blue Can I put these in together in each block for the New fitting
Came across this video online, its one of the training videos they give to smart meter fitters at the training shed.
not sure about the way they go about polarity testing, testing a couple sockets can give a mixed outcome, 2 sockets doesn't mean the rest is okay. what about other circuits?
Bought 2 metal wall lights arrived today and just opened them.
They are completely metal in construction states on the fitting they are class 2 and have no earth connection.
The cables leaving the chocbox inside to the lampholder are single cores.
How can this be class 2?
