    2 Generation Meters?

Hi All, First post on the forum. I am wondering where we stand when we install a PV system on 2 seperate roof elevations, with 2 seperate inverters, but 2 meters? Can we register 2 meters with the MCS and with energy suppliers? Thanks in advance

Generation meter position for multiple inverter installs.

I have 2x inverter domestic installation and need some advice on the meter position. In order to meter generation from both inverters, and both inverters needing a separate MCB, I need to place the meter before a 2 way CU. Would the correct approach to be take tails directly from a henley block...

which way around for the generation meter???

Sorry if this is a stupid question. Does the AC from the inverter connect to the load side of the meter or the supply side? I assume to measure the output of the panels it connects to the load side?? Apologies if this has been answered before/ stupid question Regards Erf

two inverters connected separate or parallel

I have two inverters wired to two strings. Do I need two separate wires from each inverter to an individual mcb. Or can I dual up the supply so only using 1 isolator at the generation meter end. I will still have 2 isolators in the loft adjacent each inverter. Or is it best practice to run 2...

pv generation with no feed back to grid!

i have a project at the planning stage at the moment. 100kw across 3ph. dno say that the infrastucture is not capable of feed back, and would need a costly upgrade. however he says that we can still get the feed back tariff using the pv generated on site but using a controller other than the...

    Monitoring Real Time Generation

I found this link http://www.electriciansforums.net/photovoltaic-solar-panels-green-energy-forum/30915-connecting-energy-monitors-solar-pv.html which showed the same problem with import and export being picked up on meter tails and it proposed a solution. My electric knowledge is less...

    SunnyBoy @ 240 volts

Hi Might seem a dumb question, but is it likely the Sunny Boy inverters will be OK with an incoming AC voltage of 240volts, given the nominal AC voltage is 230volts?? And given that, what is the Nominal AC voltage range...(according to spec 220, 230, 240 V; 180 – 280 V)? Does it...

    Generation Meter Wiring

Hi, Having completed a couple of PV installs now, we are still a little un-settled by the wiring of the generation meter. I have seen photos of other installs where people are using a bit of trunking in order to connect earths and keep bare sheathing covered, however, in my opinion this...

    Generation Meter stuck on 00000000.4

Maybe too many, or not enough, zeros there! Anyway, does anyone have any idea why a generation meter wouldn't have moved from this number for a few days? It came pre-configured as this (I'm assuming it was tested prior to being sent out). Also, the generation meter has a constant red light on...

    Sealing the generation meter?

Hm, just saw the MCS doc on metering for the first time which says: "The meter and terminal cover should be sealed to ensure that the customer cannot access either." Does anyone know if we need to buy a specialist sealing tool for the meter then, or is this something the DNO or Energy...
